My Arabian Horse has started wanting to walk off the road into the ditches. How can I stop HIm from this?
He just started doing this with me. Also, he does not want to work without my using my spurs on him. This is so frustrating. All I would like is for him to go the right direction. Thanks.

- He might need shoes or boots ask your farier if his legs seem to have navicular or some hoof problem he may also need a little more training.
- your horse needs discipline it has to respond to your every command you should try feeding him better and maybe you should let him relax a little more and be nice to me reward him when he does something nice try joining up
- the ground is softer in the ditch. so he wants to walk where it is soft. This is a battle of the minds. who is more determined you or him? so without spurs he just stands there? this is a perfect time to practice circles, side passing, and backing up. In the direction YOU SAY.
- A confident, capable trainer will insist that their horse does as he is asked. Horses are creatures of habit and have excellent memories, which make consistent training extremely important to them. Your horse sounds like he is being stubborn. He needs to learn manners and "listen" to you and do as you ask. So insist and be persistent that your horse walks where you want him to go---doing so positively reinforces good behavior so your horse develops confidence and walks where you want him to.
