beach in maryland with wild horses?

I heard on the radio that there is a beach in maryland that have wild horses on the beach. does anyone know what that beach is called?

1. Assateague & Chincoteague Islands. Beautiful places with wild horses. You can camp there.
2. It is an island and they are in both Maryland and Virginia. In Maryland it is Assateague. In Virginia it is Chincoteague.
3. Assateague Island has the wild horses. Every year in July, I believe, there is a roundup and the ponies swim to Chincoteague, where they are auctioned off to raise money for the fire department. The ponies not auctioned off eventually swim back to Assateague. There was a series of wonderful children's fiction books that came out many years ago about this, written by Marguerite Henry ("Misty of Chincoteague" was one of the titles). You can camp on Assateague Island, and see the wild horses up close.
