Are Bengal cats prohibited from entering Hawaii?

- I have never known of Bengals, or any other domestic cat, being outlawed from any state. Key word here is domestic, and since Bengals are crossed with Asian Leopard cats, you might just want to check with a state website to be sure (we all know laws can be dumb). http://www.ehawaii.gov/dakine/index.html
- I don't think so!
- All animals arriving in Hawaii are required to have a quarantine period. There is an option for a 5 days or less period, but you must meet strict standards, and any mistake could mean your animal must wait in quarantine for 120 days. This is because Hawaii is the only state that is free of rabies, and they are very determined to keep it that way. It also says on this website that non domestic dogs and cats and hybrids are not allowed. Looks like the Bengal cat is not allowed.
- Hi there...unfortunately, Bengal Cats are banned from entering the state of Hawaii based on the following info from the Dept of Agriculture: Prohibited Animals: The regulation of animal breeds and species that are permitted to enter Hawaii is under Plant Quarantine Branch jurisdiction and administrative rules. Non-domestic dogs and cats and hybrids such as wolf, wolf cross, Dingo, Bengal, Savannah, etc are prohibited under Plant Quarantine (PQ) law. http://www.hawaii.gov/hdoa/ai/aqs/info http://www.bengalcatclub.com/hawaii.htm Help Lift Hawaiian Ban on Bengals The Hawaii Dept. of Agriculture has begun enforcing a state law that bans Bengals in Hawaii. The law recognizes Bengals as hybrids rather than as domestic cats. No more Bengals will be allowed onto the islands and, in addition to imports being illegal, it is also illegal to purchase a Bengal locally (inside Hawaii). This law also creates a hardship to Bengal owners who want to or must move to Hawaii---including the families of military personnel who may be posted to Hawaii at any time.
