- Hi Sheila...welcome to Yahoo! Answers. It's not uncommon for foundation Bengals to have a lack of interest being held as well as shy away from strangers other than their owners. An asian leopard cat is much like this and prefers to avoid human contact altogether so to see this trait in F1-3 Bengals are not uncommon, however there are some foundation Bengals who are the exception to the rule. Additionally, most exotic cats rarely like to be held or will tolerate it for a brief time. Every Bengal cat, whether an SBT or foundation, will differ individually as they respond differently to humans and their environment. Like human identical twins ...even though they look identical their personalities can be as different as "day and night". This too also applies to cats regardless of breed. There are two wonderful online bengal chat forums I've included below that may be more helpful for any questions you may have regarding your Bengals: http://www.chat24.oli.us/hdw/yabb/YaBB.cgi http://bengalcatchat.com/
