Are Bengal cats good pets? Do you know about their temperament?

I want one, but I already have one year old male cat in my house (very laid back and subdued), and he will probably be 3 by the time I get another cat. Do you think a Bengal cat or kitten would do well? I want an energetic cat!

  1. There was a piece on Entertainment Tonight a couple of years ago about someone with a Bengal cat (can't remember who--some washed up celeb). But the person had this Bengal cat, and when he/she brought it home, it killed the other pet. I think it was a toy poodle, or some small dog. True story.
  2. They are suppose to have a domestic temperament (laid back, etc.). They act more like dogs than domestic cats, so I would be careful. Check out the links below for more info.
  3. No...bengals are like siamese..they have a bad tempermant when introduced to another cat, even as a kitten. You can only have 2 cats like this if they were born with each other.
  4. They are a wild cat and their temperament is like a wild cat .
  5. I don't think they are good pets they are still feral (wild) they are mean and don't like disturbed. + they are territorial VERY Territorial.
  6. i had a friend who had a bengal cat - he was very sweet but, he could get aggresive ... if you are going to get one I reccomend you have a large backyard and keep them indoor/ outdoor. VERY ENERGETIC! he is like 5 or 6 and still plays like a kitten - but he likes his cat naps ... and if your other cat is a male get a female bengal - two males will probly fight
