Does anyone know of any baby kittens around the Fort Worth or Lufkin, Texas area?

My boyfriend and I are looking for a kitten, we want it to be fairly young, female. If anyone knows anyone around the Fort Worth or Lufkin area who is getting rid of cats, please let me know. The adoption agencies in Fort Worth are charging so much!

  1. On Sundays at like petco and petsmart, they always have adoption people there from other organizations. Also look in the classifieds I always see free kittens in there. Good Luck!
  2. i would say go to pet finder .com
  3. Kitten season is usually the spring and early summer. That is when your local shelters will have a lot of kittens. I'd also check with vets and groomers in your area, they usually know when someone is looking for homes for animals. I just got a kitten last week from my groomer.
  4. The Texas Siamese Cat Rescue has all kinds of cats, not just Siamese. They even have kittens. Yes, they charge between $100 and $175 for the cats but the link below shows the breakdown of what the fees are for and honestly, it's cheaper than you would pay if you had to go get it done yourself. Remember, there's no such thing as a free pet.
  5. Most adoption agencies have spaying or neutering included in the adoption cost. There is also some degree of vet checking, depending on the organization, and perhaps even a vaccination. In addition, any organization that has a kitten has incurred a cost in having it. Any kitten you get should then be taken to a vet for another check, as it likely has fleas, ear mites, and worms. If you want a kitten for nothing, are you also prepared for the cost of having a kitten? To spay a female can easily cost $100 or more. To not spay her is really unforgivable. If you think otherwise, then spend some time in this forum seeing all the problems that a pregnant cat can cause. And a cat in heat is a very unpleasant cat to have around the house. Our SPCA charges $41.50. If the person does not want to pay that small amount, they probably also do not want to shoulder the expenses of having a cat, and shouldn't have a pet. You can find animals through the following link. There is no such thing as a 'free' pet.
