My sister is in dire need of finding a no-kill animal shelter in Fort Worth Texas area.?
My sister is mostly bedridden due to a brain tumer and the cat population at her house has gotten out of hand terribly. She can't take care of them. So many of these cats are there because people dump unwanted kitties right where she lives and she would feed them but had no money to spay/neuter so many. So now they have taken over. Where can we take them that they will not be killed? Any help is appreciated!

- http://www.dogpack.com/directory/txnokill.htm this will give you a good listing of no-kill shelters in Texas, many in the metroplex area. Good luck!
- I don't live in Texas but my first suggestion is to start with the phone book.....also, my experiences with 'the pound' have all been very positive. I've adopted cats and dogs from these 'kill' shelters and have found that many of the workers and volunteers are animal lovers. Many times a rescue organization will adopt animals from the kill shelters and find them homes. Best wishes and I've said a prayer for your sister....she's an angel...and God Bless.
- Try to contact these rescue groups: >>Island Girl Animal Rescue Society Inc. You know, you can always look for local rescue groups than spay and neuter strays for free (or low cost spay and neuter).
- I used to live in Ft. Worth, a year ago. There are not any no kill shelters that I know of in the Dallas - Ft Worth area. I called a couple of friends I still have there. One is a vet tech. She has never heard of a no kill shelter there, either.
- If they have gone feral, there really isn't much hope of making them adoptable. Call in the ASPCA to take them, and they will try to find homes for them. Or call a cat rescue group.
