how big do maine coon cats get?

- Mine was a 20lb er males are bigger but I think the vitamin gravy I got from pet smart and the kitty milk had something to do with it, The momma had mastitis's and couldn't nurse them. So I had to step in and hes healthy enough the vet uses him as a blood donor.
- from the source: "The Maine Coon Cat is a massive, broad chested cat with a long rectangular body and the fur is long and flowing. The males average around 12 to 15 pounds, with some going 20 pounds or more. The females are smaller, averaging 9 to 12 pounds. The head is medium in width and length with a squareness to the muzzle. The cheek bones are high and the chin is firm and in line with the nose and upper lip. The nose is medium long with a slight concavity in the profile. The Maine Coon's coat is shorter on the shoulders and longer on the stomach and britches. The texture is silky with the coat falling smoothly."
- I have a Maine Coon and mine is about 23 pounds. They can get up to 30 or so pounds depending on diet and activity level. These, along with Persians are the two largest breeds of domestic cats, so be ready to have a large cat! Most vet offices will have size charts for the weight of a cat. Mine is about a foot and a half long, with a large fluffy tail that can touch his ears. They also will have large paws, front paws about the size of a silver dollar and the back paws kind of like a twinkie . . . good luck! Email me if you have any other questions :^)
- It wouldn't be unusual for one to get 15+ lbs. They're a large breed, but sometimes they can look a lot bigger than they actually are because of their long, fluffy fur.
- We have a 23 lb. male. He's a huge ball of love!
- Mine lived to be 18 years old and he weighed 32 lbs. He was a lovely ball of fluff!
- Pretty big and they are long-haired. Gentle loving cats as well. Had ppl tell me my DLH looks to be part maine coon. Maybe that's where he gets his size from. He's one big cat.
