Question about two Maine Coon Cats?
I have two really nice Maine Coon cats. This is the deal: they are both really nice cats and they don't hiss or scratch or anything like that. It is amazing how submissive they seem to be. This is the problem: I got the two of them from this really nice lady who also had a dog. One of my cats acts like a dog which I love, like he rolls on his stomach on my legs and he literally follows me around from room to room. But the other cat, who is still really nice and is actually gorgeous, seems to have some really extreme anxiety. They are brothers, and and I have one who acts like a really nice doggie and the other gets scared at everything. Just recently he comes in to see me and seems to love me and purrs, and the second I move my arm like an inch he jumps up and gets into a stance like I am about to kill him. I don't know what the deal is? Help? He really doesn't seem to be in pain. I mean he seems to be really happy until I move, like he has been hurt and he still doesn't trust anything. I don't know. Any experience? Wow, it's really scary to think he could have been abused. But I guess possible.

- COULD HE POSSIBLY BE IN PAIN?
- I have 2 cats and one of mine is exactly the same way. We got him from someone else, and from the way he acts we know he was abused. Is it possible that he could have been abused in some way, even just once? If not, then i dont kno what its problem is.
- just pay alot of attention to him, hold him, if you can, pet him, let him learn to trust you and he'll figure out that ur not gonna hurt him.
- I have a Main Coon. They are just very desperate for love and attention. My cat does it all the time. But i do suggest that you take him/her to the vet just in case!
- Thats a very good possiblity that he could have been abused. As for the movement it could be your doing it too fast, try slowing down and after you move pet him to show everythings okay. After awhile of doing this hell see its okay to move. But if he was abused you have to take your time with him. Now for the other one, I have a calico that like her belly rubbed and follows me room to room and even sleeps with me, its how they show their love and devotion to you. A manecoon will also play fetch, thats one of their traits. Hope this helps you, Good Luck !!!!!!
- Ahhh That's too bad ! Maybe you should move slower ,some animals even people just startle easier than others! Don't you just love your Maine Coon cats ! Mine needs to be vacuumed everyday and loves pickles and potatoes chips and has brought us so much joy and he was a rescue cat that quickly adapted from being abused to pampered !SO hang in there > I promise you it is worth all you put into it !!!
