I am looking to buy a maine coon cat for a low cost?

My house was on fire and my cat did not make it, so my sister and her boyfriend want to get me and my 5 year old son a maine coon cat but they need to find one here in Indiana. We don't have much money so we need one at low cost. Any one know where we might find one or some were online that we could look?

1. I would love one too !! They cost a small fortune that's why I don't have one. Sorry but you won't find a cheap one. You could inform the pound and if they get one they could notify you. Good luck with that!! ♥
2. Sorry to hear about your cat. Are you sure you can afford to care for one properly, if you can't afford to pay full price for one? If it's just the initial cost that you're trying to keep down (and who could blame you for that?) look up Maine Coone breeders in your area and see if they have any retired cats (cats no longer providing breeder services). You may be able to adopt a 6-7 year old cat for a couple hundred bucks.
3. Do a Yahoo! or Google search for breeders in the midwest, we got one years ago from a breeder in Ohio.
4. you can always go to a shelter and check out maine coon rescues. it would be nice if you could rescue a kitty in need of a home.
5. go to the pound. save the money. save a cat. paying people to breed cats while there are homeless cats being killed is immoral.
6. Sorry to hear that. But i think you might find them in the shelter. I know that we used to have one named Daisy and they are so beautiful cats.
7. Sorry to hear about your cat. Thank God you and your son are okay. I adopted a main coon about 8 years ago. Pepper is my baby. I adopted him from a friend, who couldnt have him anymore due to a pregnancy. Anyways, try contacting a breeder or a local vet office they may be able to help find a trustworthy person or breeder. Be careful about adopting online, you may end up with a very sick kitty. Good Luck.
