- Shave them...short hair isnt as messy.
- You can't. They have a summer and a winter coat. They don't need a heavy coat in the summer. Try going to the beach in August with your fur on!
- I have just taken in a cat that my father can't keep anymore and she has ALWAYS shed alot. Now that she lives with me, I brush her everyday and it has improved her shedding 90%. I think the weather also plays a part. More in the warmer months and less in the colder months.
- If you have a long haired cat then you should brush and comb the cat every day. Petsmart and other pet stores sell items to remove the undercoat that makes a cat shed. You can also have your cat bathed and groomed to ease the shedding. I have to have this done twice a year for my cat because she gets too knotted up.
- whats the breed? some breeds just shed. if its nothing in particular get it a haircut. did the vet say it was a healthy cat? my aunts cat had leukemia and shed alot.
- Weekly brushing really helps. I have a long haired cat and since its getting warmer in Az, I just brushed his winter under coat out. You should try weekly brushing with a metal cat comb. Cats will always shed, but you can really help by brushing.
- It's natural. Would you try to put a serum on your head to stop your hair from falling out? All hair falls out, especially with change of weather and stressors. Brush your cat often to keep from getting so much fur built up where you don't want it- ie: your clothes, blankets, the air...
- Cats shed for a very important reason, especially in Spring and Summer. I have a long-haired cat and I brush him almost daily. I also use one of those special combs (can't remember the name, but a vet or pet store will know) that removes alot of the under hair. Daily grooming will help tame the shedding. I also have several lint brushes (for me)!!! :)
- I think it near impossible to stop your cat from shedding so possible the best solution is to groom him/her regularly.Try Al Fresco grooming.Just make it a regular habit. 5 to 10 minutes daily.Happy owner equals happy feline :@)
