- cat whispering or cat begging = P . I really think it depends on your cats purrrsonality . With my girl I can say a firm no and she stops whatever she is doing and goes on her way. My boy I have to use sound like a can of pennies or a squirt bottle to get his attention.
- uh, in my experience, cats will never listen. They do their own thing and will not be trained. They just chose not to do what they are told to do. That's why I like dogs.
- I'm hearing ya on this!! I have 2 cats Brother/ sister and they are too independent and not like my past cats! DNA a big part but if you can spend time play with it and give lil treats like can food or baby food (chicken) just a teaspoons worth for treat giving and brush them sharing quiet time together gets them to love ya more. Good Luck!
- I have the same problem with mine a lot. I don't believe in smacking an animal. My boy likes to hop on my hamsters cage and I raise my voice and say "NO!" I also use a squirt gun from time to time when thay are really getting into trouble.
- try a firm no and use a water gun at the same time.
- I have 2 cats also, and they don't listen to me. That is how cats are though. They are very independent. That is the difference between cats and dogs. If you want an obedient animal, I would try a dog.
- Don't be fooled, their listening, they just choose to ignore you. That's a cat for you! very independant (and loveable) I'm sure if you opened a tin of food the quietest possible way and they were in another room, they would be at your feet before you could put the can on the bench. I find the water spray very helpful with their selective hearing.
