Why do cats shake their butts before they attack something, lol?

- I think big cats like tigers, pumas, cheetahs, leopards do it in the wild too. It happens right before they pounce on their prey. I think it is instinctual to felines. In the wild or in the house. It is like a get ready cause here I come at full force...liked they are revved up.
- They are putting spring into there step. Its like winding up a toy car! Isn't it funny?
- they do that to like jump higher or something.
- They do that to show the are ADORABLE! lol...and to show they are going to pounce duh!
- They're getting ready to pounce.
- we call it "kitty wiggles". it looks so cute :) it's like they are winding up their back paws to pounce
- They shake their butts to be get their weight balanced on their back feet, make final aim adjustments since their target is usually moving and to maximize their pounce potential.
- I think it goes back to their wild ancestors....preparing to pounce! I find it adorable...."revving up." I wish my baby would leave my older cat alone....she's too old for such rough-housing now. my baby doesn't know his own strength!
- It's to get their back feet well under them and aligned to make a large fast, accurate pounce onto whatever it is they're going to attack. It just looks really cute at the same time :)
