Cross Breeds

I know this is kinda a stupid question lol, but what kind of breed of cats acts like a dog?

I'm just curious because I have that breed of cat.

  1. People say that a bred known as "Maine Coon" can act a little doggy. We had one once. They are large cats, that's for sure.
  2. You're right.
  3. Bichon Frise - oh sorry, that's a dog that acts like a cat
  4. There are no stupid questions , there are only stupid answers! ...but why a cat acting as a dog and not a DOG ?
  5. Maine Coon, but any large cat might, I had a cat that lost it's mother young and was raised with a Scotty puppy, he acted very much like a dog.
  6. i ave 3 cats maine coon cat , a simease, and another maine coon. the young maine coon is 1 years old and he is crazy over cigareets, he will do anything to get one eveb steel one out off your hand if your not careful and he will pick cigaretts out of the pack ashtrays etc, hes is like a dog he plays with my dog and it is so funny so i would say maine coon cats .
  7. Big tomcats. They great you at the door and they do all the tricks dogs do. I recommend going to your local SPCA and adopting one.
  8. I have a Ragamuffin and she is like a little Labrador in a kitty suit. She plays fetch, she chases me, she follows me around the house... She ROCKS! www.keepsakekats.com
  9. any cat can act like this.. unless your cat has registration papers it is not a BREED.. but just a cat that happens to act like a dog
  10. It's not a stupid question, Dearheart. Having been owned by a great many cats, there are a few of them who don't live up to their "feline potential". Right now I've got an American Shorthair Black and Silver Tabby who thinks he's a dog....he runs through the house like a clod, he knocks over things, runs full on into and over Mom. He chases and retrieves balls and such..although many of my cats have done the latter. He's not a kitten. He'll be five on tax day. As for the Maine Coon breed, they do tend to be very large cats, but I know very few of them who act like dogs. My old Queen was a Maine Coon and she was definitely all cat. She was Empress and the rest of us were around to serve her. Maybe our odd furry children are just dogs-in-a-cat-suit type of cats.
  11. There are breeds which are part Serval (an African wild cat). They can act a bit "dog-like" (i.e. - they'll follow you around, like to chase things, and may lick you) but this is the most dog-like you can get from a cat. My cat, while not a serval or any exotic breed, is mysteriously dog-like.
  12. Isn't it great to have a cat that follows you as you take a walk, and greets you when you arrive home. My adopted feral cat was like that. I am sure that you can communicate with this very special animal you have, so make sure you tell him how much you like him.
  13. not a stupid question... I had a domestic cat & she loved to play fetch I think it is just in their personalities......
  14. mine.
  15. I have a himmy. She follows me from room to room watching everything I do. She loves being petted (you can even wake her up and pet her she always loves that) She gives lots of kitty kisses and sleeps with me. And when I sit down to watch TV she is right in my lap for as long as I let her. She likes to be right next to you what ever you are doing. She comes into the house with a pet whistle and greets me at the door every-time I come home.
  16. Burmese cats are often called "dog cats", because they are easy to train to walk on a leash, like to retrieve (i.e. will go and get things you throw and bring them back) and are very loyal to their owners.
