Cats and babies... and lol is it a good idea to make an outdoor cat an inside one before the baby arrives?
My husband and I are expecting our first child in the next few months. Im a bit concerned because we have two cats and they both enjoy going outside. I know that making them an inside cat would be difficult, but is it really worth it? Also, Im a bit curious on potty training my cats. My husband is in the military and is gone quite a bit, so since I can't be cleaning the kitty litter, it is quite a pain. My question on that is, can older cats be trained to use the toilet? Should you train them one cat at a time? Does it really work?

- well i dont know
- first of all, you should gradually have the cats stay inside, where they eventually never go outside, then when that happens, take them to the vet, before the baby comes, cats that have been outside my have diseases or fleas and ticks that you dont want the baby to get. second they have a litter box type thing that fits on the tiolet, im not sure where ive seen it but if you go to petco or petsmart they might have it, and i think you would have to train them both at the same time. or they may be harder to train. but if you get scoopable kitty litter only, its a lot easier to clean the litter box. trust me on this, for i have 3 cats!!! i had a cat one time that pee'd in the tiolet without training, i think he did it by watching us. hahahaha
- Cats can be trained to use the litter box when they are older. You dont have to make the cats indoor cats if they are used to beeing outside they will always have the urdge to be outside. You can train them both at the same time to use the litter. You just have to put the box in a low traffic area and quiet area. Make it private for them so they can get used to it without all the comotion of the house.
