- She might have some sort of infection on it. A trip to the vet can't hurt
- if she is moving her butt up that is just normal good luck
- who knows, she could have been bitten by something. and some animals don't like being touched in certain spots, my best friend had a dog when he was little, hated being touched by the ears, and would bite when someone did.
- no idea, maybe fleas? I would take it to the vet to be safe.
- Maybe she feels it's a sensitive place so she doesn't like you touching. Maybe she hurt herself there and has got a bruise..?
- It could be fleas, a tick, an infection, a cut, sore and bruised or possibly broken (check for kinks) - have you held her down and inspected it closely?? Sometimes cats hate you playing with their tails and other times have the utmost fun chasing it and clawing at it when you move it - if it persists I'd take her to the vet if you can't physically find anything wrong with her!! Does she meow in pain when she licks it??
- anal glands....you probably need to have them expressed. my cats do that sometimes too...and that usually fixes it.
- If you are rehoming her she may have had a close escape or an accident which involved her tail being hurt.
- First of all, u said that she couldn't have smashed her tail because she's an inside cat... She still could have smashed her tail by a door closing on it, or maybe something fell of the shelf and on to her tail. You never know, but that could be one way she hurt her tail. If you have any other cats that might have been playing and the other one accidentally bit her tail. Does it look swolen at all? Depending on how furry your cat's tail is you may have to push aside the fur and take a look. Remember cat's like to take care of themselves, so if your cat has a problem she might be trying to hide it from you.
