Cross Breeds

My cats just had kittens and when my cat leaves them they start doing a funny thing with there mouth?

Is this normal for them to do that? Its like they're opening and closing there mouth but some of them make funny noises while doing this... Is this normal for them to alld o this when there mother leaves them? thankyou very much :)

1. I would assume so. The kittens are probably just wanting their mommy back so they can get some more milk. Kittens virtually have to depend on the mother for everything in the first couple of days (usually weeks) of their lives. Until their eyes open, don't be too worried if the kittens pines for the mom when she leaves. Worry when she starts leaving them too much and stop paying them any attention.
2. they are trying to meow. yep, its normal. Weve got kittens that are just now opening their eyes and we can finally hear their meow.
3. They do that cuase there hungry and want more milk... Cause they can only depend on there mother. Sarah
