Why do cats make funny noises when they see bugs?

- Did you know, we humans make oddest noises when we are excited or scared? Its natural for any living thing to make noise when pushed suddenly out of their normal mental state. Here is my theory, not sure if its correct. "Fear" is expressed in defensive postures, attack readiness and acute concentration on the "Attacker". Voice is used to either display shock, anger or sheer fear. When the action happens rappidly the brain losses partial control of the vocal chords causing them to make odd noises. This is applicable for all animals (Atleast the mammals). .:Fishie:. P.S: Would do a reasearch and update if my theory is wrong. If you have any idea, pls do respond.
- They are excited
- they do because they like to eat bugs and they make the noise when they are about to pounce
- my oldest cat, karizma, makes the same funny noises whenever she see's birds outside the window. it's really cute and i always say awhhh, and she does it some more. i think they do that to let us know that they see something different. just a thought.
- OK I am not crazy but I swear my cat can hypnotize flies and some bugs with her strange little sounds. She makes them and a fly will come closer and closer and then POW she eats it. Strange kitty.
