Cross Breeds

Anyone know someone in Florida that breeds dogs?

Anything other than sporting breeds or the kind that are likely to kill a relatively small girl when in play. I am willing to travel to the bordering states, and fluffy dogs are preffered. Thank you. I would love to go get a puppy from a shelter, but it seems that the only dogs having babies in the area are pits and bull dogs and the other notoriously violent breeds, and chances are if they're at the shelter they're from not so great bloodlines even if they're pure. As for getting a dog, we actually do have a male mutt we got from the humane society in Hawaii, but I want a PUPPY, because I've never gotten to watch a dog grow up, and I want that. It's not the purebred status or papers I want, it's the promise of personality and experience I'm after. And I've been to the local shelters, and the selection around here sucks because everybody's a redneck or badass and wants a dog that's either useful *hunting dogs* or deadly. Also I did go visit the AKC site and have e-mailed a few breeders with high hopes that it will bear fruit. Wish the mandy luck ^_^

  1. There are plenty of dog breeders in Florida. Check the AKC website, find a breed you want, search by state or zip code for breeders of that breed. Easy.
  2. why not try animal shelters? you think that all just have mutts but that's not true, there are a lot of pure breeds. it would be nice of you to save a life to the holidays. or a breed specific rescue. here's a few suggestions in case you're interested, give them a look at least. http://www.ohs-spca.org/adoption_photos.htm (two fluffy ones that are good with kids) Siberian husky rescue in south Florida: http://www.sibrescue.com/adoptions.asp petfinder.com is a great site for locating animals. congrats, i know what you mean, when i looked for those sites most of the shelters were flooded with pittbulls. btw, it kind of came out wrong, when I said you think, I didn't mean you, I meant people in general. I understand the wanting a puppy, good luck, I hope you find what you're looking for!
  3. Absolutely NOTHING wrong with buying a puppy! That way you know what your getting and where it came from.. Just take the time to meet the breeder and parents.. Check http://www.puppyfind.com and http://www.nextdaypets.com Good luck..
