  1. I have a Labrador/Border Collie mix that I got about a year ago from a rescue. Super cute and loving.... not to mention smarter than most people I know lol! http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/6903/baileyed2.jpg
  2. Rather than concentrating on breed types, it would be more helpful if you studied up on dog body language so that you can choose an open-minded, easily-trained pet. Jennifer's answer is spot-on. Good job. Here's a cookie.
  3. Lab mixes can be great...I have two. However, breed usually doesn't matter to me once I started looking for a dog. You will need to do some research on the ones that interest you and talk to the rescue groups/volunteers and they will be able to help you find the right dog for you and your home.
  4. There is a ot of information a person would need to help you answer that. LIke how physically active is your family? How much room do yu have for the dog in your home? Is a fenced yard available for the dog to play in? Who will be the primary carte person of the dog? Are there any children in the home or who visit daily? How much grooming are you willing to do? Shoot, I have another thirty questions like that before I can even start to recommend a breed. If you want, you can e-mail me some of those answers and I'll help. And don't limit yourself to purebreds. Many really great family pets are mixes from shelters. Those you have to ask the rescue personnel for assistance in locating. They will know more aobut each dog's personality since they have been around them. Good luck!
  5. Small puppy, shit tzu. Whats wrong with your spelling? egzactly every1 recomend cuz u
  6. If you're getting a dog from a rescue, then it's hard to say what will get along with other dogs. Dogs have personalities just like humans do! Look around at the shelter and ask a worker about each dog. In a shelter, there are probably a few purebred dogs in there, most at mixes. But, all are gorgeous! Just ask. :)
  7. Well, my favorite breeds are all herding dogs(Aussie Cattle Dog, Border Collie, Welsh Corgi) and none of them are 100% warm and fuzzy around other animals. If you want a breed that's guaranteed to do this , however, you can't go wrong with a Lab(preferably a puppy, as they are easier to introduce to other pack members than an adult).
  8. If your going to adopt one. Its going to be the one you think is the cutest at the time. No breed information will help you unless you know what breeds are at the adoption center. But good luck. I adopted my puppy going in for a lil lap dog and ended up with a bug lab/pit mix and couldn't be happier.
  9. okay i have a pure breed chocolate Labrador and he is absolutely sweet to the bone. chocolate labs are very friendly and LOVE playing in the water. and my dog, he loves chasing this squirrel around and ugh its hilarious! so you can also get a good laugh! if your house is like 2 bedroom a chocolate lab can fit, that's what ours is. but if your house is smaller or slightly bigger i suggest getting a shiatsu. i also have one. she's so sweet and she's very energetic. even when we leave her home alone she's perfectly comfortable. also she's easy to carry around so if you mind like 80 pound dogs a lab isnt a good choice, but a shitsu is. i hope your new dog is welcomed into the best home possible! adopting is wonderful!
