which dog should i get?
i want to buy a small puppy that doesnt grow big, only about 12 lbs or less as an adult!! im thinking a shih tzu would be the best since they're so cute as a baby! is there any better breeds that are very small too? and if i do get a shih tzu, should i get a male or female? ** I WANT A SUPER CUTE LITTLE PUPPY THAT LOVES BEING HELD!! **

- You should check local shelters. Don't be set on a puppy, when there are so many small breed adults that need that home.
- Go to petfinder.com and find a cute little dog. Then you will know the size and temperment, something you can't know with a puppy. And you will be saving a life! Mutts are just as cute and as lovable as purebreds.
- I recommend a Bichon. These dogs were bred to be companion animals. They love people and other animals. They just want to be a part of the family. And they are super cute too!!
- Well, I have a mini dachshund, (teckel) and she is 11 pounds and will not get any bigger. She loves to cuddle and be held. She is very smart and loving. She is very cute. Personally I don't like shih tzu's but then again alot of people don't like dachshunds, lol. Its really up to up to you if you want a female or male.
- i dont want to rain on your parade, but i have never met a small dog that likes to be held but, that said, i would suggest a female, males can be rathar territorial.
- You could get a maultapoo. I have one. It's a new breed that originates from a maltese and a poodle. Mine's full grown and only a few pounds. They don't shed, so you have to keep them trimmed instead, but it's not hard and worth it too. Just spend plenty of time with it to make it a lovable dog, there's no specific breed for that. Good luck with your new puppy.
- i don't really know ant little dogs but i love basset hounds sorry im not really a help
- Yorkshire Terriers weigh at approximately (6-7) pounds. Which is an ideal weight. Chihuahua's weigh at approximately 3 pounds. However, the Chihuahuas weight can be effected by a number of things; such as the fact if it is pure bred or not. Keeping all dogs on a healthy diet, will generally keep them at a healthy and ideal weight.
- i will tell you the perfect dog. I wanted the same thing in a dog. i have a chiuaua. they are not what everyone says. she weighs 3 pounds will get to 5 max she acts like my little baby. she want to be held and cuddled all the time. i love it. shih tzu are nice to have but they are a high maintenance dog. you would fall in love with her. everyone i know of that has one acts the same way. It is how you raise them. get a female.and make sure you get her fixed it is very easy for dogs to get cancer in that area.
- there are a few dogs i could suggest that are about the same size as a shih-tzu and just as cute like a dachshund a pug (beware sometimes theire eyes pop out) a Maltese a jackrussle a chiuaua ( i don't know how to spell that sorry) i reckon that you should get a female shih-tzu because they are usually easier to train and tent to be less aggressive then male shih-tzus
- I think a shih tzu would be great! My uncle has one, and he is soooo cute, and he's really friendly, but then again, most of them are! If you do get one, get a male, they are so much friendlier, and they still love to be held! :)
- I say Shih Tzu!! I have four of them and am addicted to them. They are cute as pups and beautiful as adults! They love to be held and sleep with you and want lots of people attention. Whether male or female is personal choice but dont forget to spay or nueter whatever your choice.
- I have to shih tzu they are grate dogs however you have to get them groomed about every month so so I get mine cut really short. If your dog has lots of mates and such they will charge you more. One of the shih tzus I have is really laid back and the other is really hipper. I really thinks it depends on the dog you get if it wants to be held all the time
- Get a miniature yorkshire terrier. They r extremely small and so cute! I want one so bad. That is what i would get if i were you.
