Puppy safe paint???

I bought this cute wooden bone shaped dog food bowl holder. It stands about 10 inches of the ground and has 2 steel bowls. Currently it is blue but my baby is a little girl. I bought it with the idea of painting it and decorating it for her. While at the store buying spray paint I thought about toxins!! Is there a safe paint for this project????????????????????????? I always see pretty painted dog bowls - what type of paint do they use????

  1. You can go to any paint store and ask them for child safe paint! They will guide you to the right type of paints for this project ok. opps! sorry for the type o! all fixed.
  2. Hi, my fiance' owns his own paint company. i asked him your question, he said the only paint that is toxin is paint with lead in it. otherwise paint the wooden bone and let dry. if your puppy chews on it, she will be okay.
  3. What type of paint would you feel comfortable eating? Even if a paint isn't considered toxic, it proabably isn't good for you, or your pup. It may not be a poison, but sharp flakes could cause cuts in the gums or throat and even the digestive system. Try a vet for suggestions. Maybe tempera paint, which is egg based. But you would still have to be sure the pigment you use to color the paint is safe.
