Cross Breeds

Where can I find a puppy in Missouri?

I want a young puppy. I live in Rich Hill, MO. About an hour south of Kansas City. I'm willing to drive to cities close by. I would love a free puppy, but am willing to pay anything under $300. Anyone with an unwanted puppy please let me know. I'm not interested in breeding, just a cute little lap dog to be my baby. I know about the pound and humane society....I was looking for someone that has a puppy they want to get rid of.

  1. there are no puppies in MO
  2. Keep your eyes on the newspapers.
  3. Go to your local animal shelter. They have lots of puppies up for adoption for a small fee.
  4. at an animal shelter. and fyi those little baby dogs usually cost about a thousand and up. very rare and hard to find them for free.
  5. what kind of dog do you want? Many different kinds of lap dogs out there.
  6. If you don't mind a mutt your local humane society or aspca might be a good place to start. All those animals there need loving homes, or.. if your wanting a certain breed you could try petfinder.com an I think they go by your zip for local places around you. Good luck an hope you find you new friend.
  7. It is Puppy season check out petfinder.com they will have tons of babies in need of good forever homes. You can search by size and they are certainly in your budget, not to mention you will be saving your new babies life. Good Luck and Congratulations
  8. Being that you are not hooked on a breed, you just want a good dog. I would like to advise you to try the humane society. Everyone that I have talked to from who has gotten there dog from there, me included, just loves it. At least take a look. When you get it is already fixed, has the necessary shots and a complete exam. You said that you are willing to pay $300 well it is usually around $75. I don't know but it may also be tax deductible?
  9. LOOK IN THE YELLOW PGES FOR YOUR LOCAL HUMAINE SOCIETY, THERE YOU WILL FIND LOT'S OF PUPPY'S THAT NEED LOVE AND NEED A GOOD HOME, GOOD LUCK KATHY

  11. I have to warn you that Missouri is considered the puppy mill capital of the USA. Its a BAD idea to look in newspapers for dogs, simply because that's where most BYBs (BackYard Breeders) advertise. You really don't want to support their atrocious breeding programs. Don't get sucked in by all these so-called "Designer" breeds. They are mutts...and mutts JUST like them can be found at your local shelter. The best way to go about finding a good, HEALTHY pet, is to first find a GOOD breeder. Please, don't support a puppy mill or a BYB. By finding a good breeder, you WILL get a good pet. When you purchase from a puppy mill or BYB, you run a serious risk of getting a problem dog...healthwise, temperament-wise, etc. Also, if you pay only $300 for a poorly bred dog, you will probably end up spending much, much more than that in vet bills. Its best to start out on the right foot, by paying more for a healthy dog. Check out this link...a real eye-opener! http://www.grumpybumpers.com/dogs
