What can you do about people killing dogs and cats for fur?

I saw a news report last night about people skinning cats and dogs alive for fur. It made me sick. The poor cats were clinging to each other for protection as they were plucking them out of a crowded cage. They tied a dog to a fence and skinned it alive. It took 14 alsatian puppies to make a coat. I sat there and cried my eyes out. Why does this still happen in the world. What can I do about it? How do I contribute towards it stopping? I cant stand to think of this. For the person that asked - I did not witness this personally - it was on my local news (lincolnshire, UK) about what was happening in China. Im sure other countries do this too. Apparently this fur is contained in a lot of products we dont even know about. It makes me feel sick - I couldnt watch all of it- it makes me feel too angry that it happens and i cant stop it. Thanks for your comments x huibother: its not lies - I saw the video. they werent trying to get my money - it was on my local news and they werent appealing for money - they were just saying that Europe were working to sort the problem out - so something can be done. i dont want to argue with you - you seem a bit touchy man! im just sharing my views :) and why do you say its none of my business? why cant it be my business if i care? why do you feel so strongly about it? why has this hit a raw nerve with you?

1. You can't do much. But you can just not buy any fur. The Less Fur that gets Sold, The less fur that is needed. Thus less Animals needed to make the Fur. Good luck.
2. Some other countries think of dogs and cats are commodities, and not pets. I've seen footage of that stuff, too, and it is disgusting. I don't know what can be done other than not buying products that contain animals that are pets in this country.
3. Don't support the industry by buying the products, educate you friend's, family and peer's about how wrong it is. It is bloody disgusting isnt it? What kind of a person get's off by doing that to an animal or what kind of filthy creep gets off by draping dead bodies around their frames. Wankers who think it is 'trendy' and 'posh' or indicitive of wealth and class. It's not it is definately NOT!
4. I'm sorry, I would not have had the temparement to see puppies being skinned alive.I feel like blasting those b...s... with words, but i don't want to spoil this forum, just to show my emotions, which is no way going to change the situation as I really do not KNOW where it has happened. If you have any Animal welfare associations known to you, rush there to avoid more massacres. Animals are killing another animal as they do not know an alternative, but we humans can have an alternative for everything, why should they go for these things which just adds a value but at the cost of a life, sorry several lives. Next time you come across this take a video , and submit it to the concerned persons.I know these things will not happen without proper backgrounds.Never let yourself out easily, anytime they wont hesitate to skin you for them to continue having fur of those for which you come forward. Concerned persons are the persons in animal welfare associations , who are there knowing how to take care of these guys without any probs.I hope you can let this info even by totally HIDING yourself. LET WE LIVE THE LIFE, BUT NOT AT THE COST OF A DEATH WHICH MAKES YOU FEEL GOOD.THEN IT IS YOU BEGGING FOR YOUR LIFE BY COMMANDING THE DEATHS OF THE INNOCENTS. IN MY DICTIONARY KILLING AN ANIMAL IS EQUIVALENT TO KILLING A HUMAN. BLUE CROSS WHERE ARE YOU................. PLS TAKE THIS ISSUE TO THE DEPTHS.
