Can my puppy be around other dogs/cats?
She is almost two months old (born June 7th) and she has only had one of her parvo shots so far. I have two cats and one dog and i was just wondering if it is safe for her to be around them. & the cats and dog go outside occasionally.

- Your puppy should be fine with cats, I don't think they share too many things. As for dogs, I don't know all the shots and stuff. My dog was with other dogs like a week after we got him, so you should probably be fine. I also have 2 cats, and they were okay.
- It should be safe i don't see why not if the other animals are friendly then yes its all fine.
- Sure. Think about it. The puppy's mother was fine to be around her puppies, right?
- as long as it is supervised by you and if something does go down make shore you have quick access to the puppy chris
- Of course. I have a puppy thats around the same age and hes always around a dog and a cat. They'll eventually learn to play together and itll be the cutest thing ever! :P :)
- Unless she was diagnosed with parvo, then it is perfectly safe.
- It'll be safer if you'll let the puppy finish her sessions of shots first before you let her play with other pets so as not to get any potential virus from other pets, that's my vet's advice to me (for my puppy, ofcourse). :)
- Congradultions on the puppy! I LOVE puppies! If your animals are showing any sign of parvo or any other kind of sickness, I wouldnt let my puppy get around them because they're immune system is still kind of weak. I would try not to expose him/her to other sick animals.
- your puppy should be fine around your animals because you are more likely to see any kind of illness with your own pets. you should only keep the puppy away from your pets feces and strange dogs that you don't know until it has all its shots
- As long as none of them have parvo, she's fine. Trust me, I have two dogs!
- The cats are fine.. watch their claws tho, cats can do alot of damage to a little puppy nose. Your other dog should be fine.. it's entirely vaccinated? Don't take your other dog out into public areas til your puppy is finished her shots or you risk him bringing something home to her.
- I adopted a 6 wk old puppy from the Humane Society and introduced him to my 2 yr old dog right away. As long as you know your older dogs health is good and up to date with shots I don't see any problems. The puppy is now 5 mnths old and not a single health issue. I would avoid walking the puppy where other unknown dogs would frequent to do there business until after the 2nd round of shots.
