Is it worse to eat dogs/cats than it is to eat cows/pigs/fish/chicken?

I think so, and want to know if most people agree with me. Some people try to defend dog/cat-eating (which is common in certain Eastern countries) by saying that animals are animals, and eating one is not worse than eating another. I disagree because dogs and cats have been domesticated for so many years.

1. I won't judge from a cultural perspective, but do offer this observation: Dogs and cats are carnivores and natural predators. They are high on the food chain, generally not preyed upon. This makes them less likely foodstuff. Cows, pigs and chickens are herbivores and low on the food chain. You could say that they are "made to be eaten". After all, humans aren't the only ones eating them. All predators eat them. From the social perspective, there's also a difference: Dogs and cats were not domesticated for food. They enjoy a symbiotic relationship with humans. Cows, pigs and chickens, on the other hand, are the product of thousands of years of animal husbandry and designed to be our food. Fish, don't fit the mold because they may be predators in their environment, yet we eat them. However, fish are cold-blooded animals from a different world than us and the mammals we eat, so I think we need to look at them differently.
2. I think that eating dogs and cats are not a good thing because the phenomenon probably indicates a vast disparity in the economy and food production abilities of the country it is happening in. If people are eating dogs and cats, the poverty level is probably very serious, and that's just a side effect. Eating them when other meats are readily available is quite a different story. I don't think it happens very much because they don't really taste that good, and I wouldn't be opposed to laws against it.

4. Well, in other countries (especially in ASIA) Dogs and Cats are a delicacy! First of all, it's disgusting! Try taking care of your Dog or Cat, and as years go by you get so attached to them. They become your friend, best friend even, you'd even treat them as family. Now why would people eat an animal they've been treating as their friend or family? It's like eating a family member! Theres a difference between raising pigs, chickens or cows. You raise them to make them big and fat so that you get lots of meat when you butcher and cook it. Domesticated Cats & Dogs get fed so that they'll live! Not to be killed and eaten! One more thing, Dogs and Cats have rabies... even if they got shots for anti-rabies, its still in their system! If you eat their meat, you eat the rabies. Like I said, DISGUSTING!
