my pitbull is scared of other dogs.?

I have a pitbull thats about 4 months old. Each time i walk him, when he see's people he just wants to run toward them. But when he see's other dogs he get scared and run away. How do i get him to be more aggressive. Not aggressive as in really mean and want to kill everything, just aggressive to not run from other dogs and be really protective. Also If other dogs see a pitbull coming, would they be scared.

1. He'll be protective of you if the time ever calls for it. But Pitties are known for their chickenry. He'll outgrow some of it.
2. Maybe your dog is scared because he has a past of other dogs being mean to him. Introduce him to a nice dog around the neighborhood and you will slowly see the progress.
3. Dogs don't watch TV, so they don't know all the media hype about Pit Bulls. Your dog is probably shying away because he's a puppy and the other dogs are coming at him in a dominate way. Read their body language. You don't want any dog to be aggressive in any kind of way!!! You want a well balanced, well socialized dog. Pit Bulls have a bad rap already, you don't want to add to the terrible reputation they have!!!
4. Enjoy it while you can, take this time and socialize him with other dogs and people. Be careful what you wish for !
