- Westies are good, they are small but chuncky and on't shed that much hair. Pooples don't shed at all.
- I highly recommend getting a Pomeranian. I have one, and he's adorable. You can train them to either bark at strangers if you want it to double as a guard dog, or train it to be silent. Mine is silent, and he's liked by everyone that sees him. They also require minimal exercise and are mostly people-friendly. However one of the negatives of these dogs is that their teeth have a high chance of getting diseases, so if you get one, make sure to buy dry food or treats specially for the cleaning of dog teeth.
- A shih tzu would be a good choice. A miniature poodle or lhasa apso would also be good.
- Ratt terriers, they are great companions, are short hairs, and very easy to house train. Here's a site where you can get a look at them: http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/ratterrier.htm They are a small breed dog so they're very easy to maintain. They have lots of energy and love to run outside.
- I have a Yorkshire Terrier and he doesn't shed at all....He also has lots of energy like a puppy even though he is 4 years old. He weighs 5 pounds. I adore him.
- try a Great Pyrenness, They don't know they shed and they thing they're a small dog.
