Is the Frontline Plus Formula the same for Large Dogs as Small Dogs, Just different dosage amounts?
I see on Ebay that people are selling the Large Dog one big container of Frontline for small dogs. What they do is they give you a syringe to measure out the correct dosage for the small dog. Example one container 4.02 mL = 6 monthly dosages of .67 mL for a small dog. I just learned of this practice. Any opinions?

- Yes dosage depends on size/weight of animal
- Yes, they are the same formulations only differing dosages but most people aren't terribly adept at properly dosing. If you screw up and make your dog sick they won't guarantee it. Also since you are buying it on ebay or from whoever, who knows if they didn't stick a needle in, take out some of it and/or add some saline in there and dilute it?
- Yes many people do this. It is safe as long as you measure accurately and know what you're doing. I wouldn't buy Frontline off of ebay as you don't know what you're getting. There's lots of counterfeits out there.
- Yes it is the same. Last summer my vet ran out of the small dosage, so they sold me the next size up dogs dose, and showed me how to split it up. They told me to half it for my West Highland Terrier.
- we use it all the time in clinics because it is more cost effective and when you know exactly what amount you need is just as effective as a tube of Frontline Plus for a small dog. i would not recommend doing this unless you are absolutely comfortable with doing it and are very sure of the right dose. other than that the answer is yes it is the same exact liquid in all the tubes just a different amount. also if you decide that you want to do it this way then i suggest buying the Frontline from your vet and splitting it then. I wouldnt trust anything from ebay. good luck and hope this helps
