Do all Boxer dogs have bladder problems?

My Boxer is 1yrs old and has a problem holding his pee! I always let him out at night before we go to sleep, but some nights he lets it go in his sleep.. I don't know what else to do. I've even tried not to give him water after a certain time. Does anyone else have any advice?

  1. i dont think all boxer dogs have bladder problem, i think ur dog just has a very sensitive bladder, try taking him to a vet and have it check, it should be treatable!
  2. Not that I know of. My sis had boxers for years and I never heard of any of them having bladder issues.
  3. Your puppy may have some type of bladder infection and should be checked by a vet
  4. NO BECAUSE THERE ALL DIFFRENT
  5. i have an 11 yr old boxer. i know a lot about them. sometimes boxers will pee because they are mad at you. make sure you give him a lot of attention, and when you let him out to go to the bathroom, give him a treat when he comes back in, and yell at him when he goes in the house.
  6. . my Siberian Husky had the same problem...in her case it is weak bladder muscles and she was put on a drug called PRO-IN ( which has basically no side effects/ and almost no health risks). your dog may have the same problem...if you schedule an appointment with your vet they can tell you whats going on.
  7. It has been my experience that all Boxer don't have bladder problems. I've never own a Boxer but a few of my close friends and relatives have and have never had that problem with their pet. I recommend that you consult a Veterinarian
  8. I have two boxers, one male and one female. My male holds his bladder better than my female. At a year old, he is still a puppy but should be housebroke. I always take the water up at 8:00, they get let out right before bed, at 10 or 11, then again at 6am. They never use the bathroom. I don't think it's a "Boxer" problem. Is he on a set schedule throughout the day? If he's not, I would try that b/c if he knows he's going out at 2,4,6,8 then he knows. But if it's sporadic, he doesn't know and will just go when the urge hits. I love Boxers!!! I have seven puppies right now that are going to their new homes this weekend and it's going to kill me.
