Are Boxer dogs likely to bite?

My neighbor has two huge boxer dogs that run all over the place. I carry pepper spray and I ask my wife to carry it whenever she's in the yard. Our neighbor on the other side has small children and the other neighbors Boxer sometimes run across my yard into the adjoining yard where the children live. Is there any danger?

Theres always danger with dogs. Especially dogs that you dont know. Boxers arent typically an aggresive dog. (I used to breed them) but any dog can be trained to be mean. so it's always better to be safe than sorry. try talking to your neighbor about keeping them confined to their yard. if they refuse check out your states leash laws. most places require that they be confined to their yard or on a leash of some sort.
probably they just want to play but since there big dogs playing to them is probably scary to you because u think there gonna bite
boxers make great family pets they are very loyal high energy but do tell your neighbor about your concerns
Just going off the breed of the dog, I do not think that boxers are an aggressive breed. Then again someone can train any dog to bite....
There is always danger involved with animals. Especially big ones. That's why they are animals. But, have you seen any aggressive behavior from these dogs? They could be really friendly. If it concerns you I would talk to your neighbor about it. You might just need to meet the animals and let them get to know you.
It actually depends. Boxers usually bite strangers, but they usually bite when they're not raised by breeders and when they were abused. Ask the neighbor if they were bought straight from a breeder, or you should just ask your neighbor to keep your dog away from your property and your family (politely).
Naw most Boxers dont bite they might jump up on kids and knock em down trying to love on em..............next time you see them call them over and pet them
i have two boxers myself, i got them because they are one of the best type of dog you can get if you have children. you should still be cautious with them you might offer them treats just to see how they react. they are called the jesters of the dog comunity because of the way they clown around. its also about impossible to keep them in a fence
Boxer dogs are generally very good dogs, and especially very good with children. I doubt they would ever hurt children. Of course, if they have been trained as guard dogs, the may bite someone who trespasses or who does what they are trained not to allow. But if they don't seem hostile or bark at you I wouldn't worry. Of course, don't go do something to them they may not like, petting them and so on, or running in front of them, or you know some dogs chase bikes...
Any dog can bite whether it be a Boxer or a Pomeranian. I use that analogy because I own both. It just depends on how they are raised. Both of my dogs are very well trained and socialized. So they are very friendly. Excellent with our 2 y/o son. But they never run lose that's just irresponsible. Talk to the neighbor tell them your concerns about the dogs running lose. They may be friendly but you do not want to take a chance. Check out your local SPCA about leash laws. Your neighbors could get fined for allowing them to run lose.
First...you need a fence. No dog should be running across your yard or running free. All dogs are a potential problem, whether it be biting or jumping up on the elderly or disabled. Call the local ASPCA or shelter, report that the dogs are often loose. You should not have to carry pepper spray in your own yard. Your neighbors sound a bit too care-free and need to be reminded of the responsiblities. I have had many dogs, and I don't abide by people allowing their dogs to infringe on others and cause fear (whether it be a threat or friendly) Just handle the matter with politeness, calm and a neighborly concern. But...get a fence.
Boxers are more likely to jab or punch you with a closed paw, hence the name Boxer.

Any dog can bite in the right kind of situation. Whether it be Boxer, Brittany Spaniel, or a mix breed. But going on just the breed alone? Unless they were improperly socialized or abused or very badly bred, I wouldn't worry. Boxers tend to be sweethearts, who make great family dogs. They love kids, because they're kinda kids themselves. Buying a Boxer mean buying a perpetual puppy who thinks life's a bowl of cherries and they're just as human as you or I. Yes, they can get too exuberant for children and knock them down, ect. But biting is highly unlikely. As to the biting strangers comment, Boxers normally have good judgements when it comes to people. They just love people. You're more in danger of being slobbered and licked to death. But I would call up this neighbor and ask they supervise their dogs. It's not right to let a dog run where they please. The breed may look formidable. But the book's cover doesn't always tell the right story.
THERE IS ALWAYS DANGER INVOLVED WITH A STRANGE DOG, ALTHOUGH I HAD A BOXER FOR 10 YEARS, EVERYONE WAS ALWAYS SCARED OF HIM BUT HE WOULD'NT HAVE HURT A FLY, NOT EVEN A STRANGER, MY KIDS RODE ON HIS BACK LIKE YA WOULD A HORSE TILL THEY GOT TOO BIG. HE WAS THE BEST DOG EVER, BUT LIKE I SAID YOU NEVER KNOW, SO BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY.
