What is the difference between German and American Boxer dogs?
Public Comments
- The germans are typically quite a bit bigger with blockier heads.
- there are only Boxers. No American or German. A breeder might tell you the boxer is German or American, but that is probably so they can charge you more money, just a marketing ploy. Boxers originate from Germany and are now bred all over the world.
- German ones are born in Germany and American ones are born in America
- There are several difference. german lines tend to have a larger bone structure there for giving them a larger size then the north american boxer. There muscle tone is much more pronounced and their muzzels tend to be quite a bit shorter. there jaw structure is a bit different then the NA boxer giving the german lined boxer a bit more of an under bite. german boxers have a higher prey drive and are not as good with cats or other small animals. German boxers are also more work oriented and will work harder and for longer periods then a NA boxer.
