What age did your boxer dogs started to display its watchdog instinct?

1. My female Boxer, Daisy, was approximately 9-10 months.
2. The boxer I had as a little girl was about 7month to a year. She was really good about watching us, in the middle of the night she would "make her rounds" and check on every single room to make sure everything was OK. We had to leave doors open or she would wake the house up with her barking.
3. My Boxer was about 9 (maybe 12) months old when she started to watch my siblings and I. She is not as protective as she used to be. (When she was younger she would fight my other dog when he would get too rough with me.) Now she just follows me around the house and barks at strangers.
