- Dogbreedinfo.com has names and pics, and a lot of the doggies are really cute. ^_^
- try the official AKC website for dogs: http://www.akc.org/index.cfm In the menu on the left, click on breeds and then on the alphabet letters to pull up pages with thorough descriptions of the breeds and their characteristics.
- Check out the AKC site http://www.akc.org/breeds/complete_breed_list.cfm
- dogbreedinfo.com
- instead of looking for site u may want to go to ur local shelter, there are many pets there that are looking for good homes, and u might go there just in time to save a dogs life. please take my advice and go to ur local shelter where there are really dogs and cats in need for good homes, that could be killed soon.
- www.dogbreedinfo.com/ is one site. If you're going to get a cat, wait to get your dog until the cat has settled in. It can be very stressful for the cat, and for you, to add too many members to the family at once. Then, after the cat feels totally at home and has adjusted to the change, start researching breeds of dogs that are tolerant of cats. Some breeds are bred to chase small animals -- they usually chase cats, too. You want a placid, non-cat-chasing dog for your next family member. Don't assume the dog and cat will be friends -- tolerance is our primary goal! Sometimes friendship happens but you don't want to plan on it. Many rescue organizations will cat-test a dog for you to see if the dog gets along with cats. That can be very helpful, and gives you an idea if the two will get along or not. It's hard to predict the adult behavior of either dogs or cats, so I always recommend that people consider adopting pets that are older puppies or young adults. That way, what you see is what you get! Have fun with your new pets!
- in iams.com they have breed information and pictures.
- You can try www.akc.org, they have a listing of all recognized breeds w/pics. Another great place to just see pics of all type of dogs is www.dogster.com. On the left hand side of the page there is a search option. Click on advanced search, you can then choose a breed or breed mix (it'll make sense once you're there). Once you make your choices, at the bottom choose "20 thumbnails per page". All the dogs you see will be "real life" dogs, not the breed standard that you'll see at American Kennel Club. Here's a shameless plug that will take you to my pups site. http://www.dogster.com/dogs/494151
