Is there gonna be a Snow Dogs 2? Or has it already come out? I know this movie is Pretty old, I think it came out in 2002... But I watched it the other day and I really liked it.. Is there a Snow Dogs 2? Please post your sources! :-)

Why is my dogs bowl extremely slimy after she eats a meal? My almost 2 yr old pit/lab mix (aka speckle breasted arctic snow dog) always leaves me a nice and slimy dog dish after she finishes a meal. Seriously slimy. Only HOT water, soap, and a hard scrub will get it off. Her saliva seems to be suspect since she licks that bowl nice and clean until no food remains.

Can I take 2 dogs in one crate on a plain? I have 2 husky's that don't like to be separated and can fit into one large plastic crate. would they alow me to take them I live in Florida and i will be going to new york this winter and i would like to take them sense they are snow dogs. if so how much would it cost ( about how much do u think? How to get rid of a dogs stink? Pet Groomers!? I have a black lab 2-3 years old, and a black siberian husky/snow dog/search dog. Love them both, but they really stink :( Washed them, even using AXE. Can dogs get sick from eating snow? I have two dogs one is 9 months and the other is 2 and a half. Since we just got hit with this massive snow storm the 9 month old one has been eating a ton of snow and she started throwing up last night. I finally got the throwing up under control last night but she was outside this morning and most likely ate snow because she seems to love to and she started throwing up again. how do i get over my phobia of dogs? i have been afraid of dogs ever since i was 8 at that time i never even seen a dog exept on tv my older sister who 21 at the time was married nd obviously had her own house and she had 4 dogs that chase me everytime i come to the house d reason i was afraid is because they all understand wnglish so we went to pet one that was the most gentle and not at all violent so we where petting him and one of my sisters was foolish enough to go and start mocking the other dogs who seemed gealous so she was saying you are a very bad stupid ugly dog then it barked at her and the rest chased us 2 of them chased me while the others where chasing my sisters the managed to get into the house just in the nick of time before it bit them so then i was their only target and they almost bit my butt all 4 of them chased me and i made a quick U turn and i fell then they took me as lunch like a dead dead zebra to a lion luckly people where around and threw mud at them because it just finshed raining and my life was saved and evr sice then whenever i see a dog i just feel ike running away especially a bull dog or snow dogs so can you please help on this phobia its really imbarrasing when i go out

Are your dogs having as much fun frolicking in the snow as mine are? We finally got milder temps and a decent amt of snowfall here in Western PA. Our 3 dogs just can't seem to get enough of racing thru it, rolling in it and eating it! The 2 older fellows have seen their share of snow in the past, but this is the chi-weenie pup's first. She's in it almost up to her shoulders. The world must really look amazing from her eye-level! They've really given us a show with their antics! What a strange question, Puppy Love! Camping with dogs? In the snow? My boyfriend and I go camping every year in Yosemite. This will be the first year with the dogs. What are your experiences, positive and negative? Our dogs are currently 10months (male lab) and 8 months (female border collie). We are going in a few weeks and then again for Christmas when there will undoubtedly be snow, each trip will be 2-4 nights. The park requires that dogs be kept on a 6'ft leash at all times. Both dogs walk very well on leash, but I am worried about them disliking being on leash basically 24 hours a day. Our tent is big enough to put their crates in. Any advise would be greatly appreciated!!!

We usually stayed inside, and when it was light we were outside. We trained and ran dogs for sled teams for the Iditarod race. My most prized possession was my dog, Bree. Bree was sweet not to mention innocent, not exactly a sled dog. Bree was like Jenna in Balto, and Nana from Snow Dogs. She was wanting to be a lead dog but she was a Akita and a Collie mixed. Do most dog like the snow? Or do most dogs hate the snow? I ask because my 2 love the snow. We are lucky if we get a dusting once a year but when it does snow they love to be out in it playing in it. (Supervised ofcourse, we don't have a fenced in yard so we have to take them out on leash) My poodle loves it tremendously, my Terrier/Chihuahua mix is indifferent about it. But then again my poodles just loves being outside and if his little body would let him he would play outside more often Snow or Shine. Anyways the reason I ask is it doesn't bother my two at all. But my grandparents dog hates it, infact if its cold out she refuses to go pee outside. She just stands by the door. She is willing to hold it until it warms up. Snow on the ground, they shovel the bit of snow away for her to use the bathroom but she still won't leave the patio steps. She despises snow and cold weather. Its been a long winter because its been very cold here. (We are in the south we aren't used to these 17 degree days) My parents have a Poodle that refuse to go out in the snow, she is very small though 4 lbs. But she will eventually go if there is a place cleared for her. And I had a poodle and shih tzu that refused to go out in the snow even to play when I was growing up. Why do dogs get "snow nose" in the winter? My White German Shepherds always get "snow nose" in the winter. But my Black German Shepherd does not. I know it is natural. And I know her nose will blacken come spring. But why does the nose change color in the first place? What biological purpose does the changing color serve. Or maybe there is no purpose for it, but rather an environmental cause. Question: Has any one ever had this experience with their dog after a snow storm? We have almost 2 feet of snow on the ground and after about 5 days my Astrailian Shepherd who is 5 months old has decided that his 'dog business' is some what interesting to eat. He has never done anything like this and it was my thinking that being that it is flash frozen so to speek he finds it different from regular 'dog business' that he usually leaves in the yard. I pick it all up all the time, so he has never had to really confront it much. I do so now, but when I do not he often messes with it. Does my frozen theory sound plazable?

What the heck are my dogs digging after in the snow and mud? I have 2 young Shelties that are frantically digging up 6" of snow and then into the frozen ground! They come up with their adorable little snouts covered in mud and snow (it's a funny sight)! They are just possessed though. They're out in their fenced in yard for an hour or two (they can go into our heated garage if they get too cold but they shouldn't with those SHELTIE COATS)! They are indoor dogs mainly so now I guess I'm going to have to give them some good bathing and really dry them well and walk them and not let them back there till I bury it up. can my siberian be a cross breed ? i keep telling my wife that we have a purebreed sibe. i adopted my boy diesel 2 months ago from a shelter. i paid the maximum adoption fee 300 dollars because of his age and breed. i don't have a picture i can put on here nor do i know how but for anyone that saw the movie snow dogs, he looks just like "demon". he's black and white with ice blue eyes and a blaze mask. the wierd thing is his legs seem a lot longer than a standard sibe and at 7 months he's 54lbs and it says that full grown male sibes are 60-65 lbs. at the rate he's growing he's going to exceed that. don't know what he could be crossed with if anything. he has every characteristic of a sibe just a little big and tall for his age. for one sandi i am just interested and two he was only in a shelter because his previous owners were elderly and had health problems and couldn't take care of him. so they had to give him up.

will 2 dogs share 1 doghouse? we are building a dog house for our 2 dogs. 1 male and 1 female, they get along fabulous. she has brightened up his life. they are outside dogs. one is shepard and one is husky mix. we are making a dog house NOW. should we build 2 separate houses, or 1 with 2 doors, or 1 with 1 door only to cut down on cold weather (ice, snow,air) how would you get them to share this house? Does your dog like snow? Im just asking because its snowing right now. I live in one of the only places in Southern California were it snows. We recently got 2 feet. My dog Chopper a Dobie/Shepherd freaks when it snows. He runs and slides in it and chases it and brings it in the house and eats it. In stead of dog treats we give him snow he loves it! lol He even lays in front of the dogg-door and pulls it in. My poodle even enjoys it on occasion.

dog and snow? I have a few problems with the snow and my dog. Since this is her first winter she loves the snow but 1. she isnt used to peeing/pooping on snow so it takes her awhile to find the "spot" 2. she gets so cold quickly she comes back inside not giving her time to pee/poop 3. the snow (kind of like small ice cubes) gets stuck to her hair and is a hassle to get out

How long is too long for a dog to be out in the snow? My dog is part border collie part corgi and lab. She is 8 months old and does not want to be in the house with the snow falling. We have an inch or 2 on the ground now. She has been out about 45 mins out of the last hour. Everytime she comes in she cries to go back out. Is it safe to let her stay out if she is happy?

How do I keep my dogs paws safe in the winter? I have a very small dog - she's 1/2 toy chihuahua and 1/2 Boston Terrier. We recently got about 4 inches of snow, and my dog (Lola) likes to play in the snow. She goes in and out through a doggie door all day long with our 4 other dogs. Since she's so small she gets cold easily, so I bought her a little jacket. She doesn't mind it, but we also bought her some paw protecters. They're somewhat stiff and go up past her joint. I don't think they're very comfortable for her to walk in. Yesterday and Today she's been favoring one of her paws, but only after she comes in from the snow. I'm wondering if that paw is extra sensitive, or if she maybe got a little cut from some ice or something. the point is, how should i protect her paws from the cold and the ice? She doesn't appreciate most clothes, so the doggie boots would have to stay on well. I also want her to be able to move comfortably in them. thankyou!

My dog was gone for about 2-3 days in that time we got about 2 feet of snow and my dog came back and (sorry for being so upfront but...) his testicles are a little redish purple-ish i guess would be the color. and im just wondering if Dogs could get frostbite there, i mean i dont see why they wouldnt be able to but im just courious. Snow/Ice storm moving in.....as far as the dogs go what should we have to be prepared? Okay we have 2 dogs and they are inside dogs. But just wondering how we should prepare for the bad weather with them. We live in the south and it never snows here, its been about 10 years since or last ice storm and the last few years it hasn't even been below 40 degrees here. The last 2 weeks the temp has been around 17 degrees. Anyways this evening/tonight we are expecting snow and ice. (Anywhere between 2 to 4 inches of snow is expected) But even with an inch of snow things get crazy around here, no one knows how to drive in it. My concern is more about the ice, you get enough of that and the powerlines snap and all that fun stuff. How should we prepare incase this is worse than we expect. We have flashlights and candles and we just bought a new thing of dog food. Should we get some bottled water or jugs of water incase the pipes freeze? Also letting them out to potty in this mess, best way to keep them safe when doing that? Thanks We haven't had snow in 4 years and haven't had an Ice storm since I was a kid. I am looking for cute ideas for a group theme for 8 dogs. 2 Bloodhounds, 1 Bouvier des Flandres, 2 German Shepherds, 2 Jack Russell's and one small 5lb Rat Terrier. - In the group there is a male bloodhound and Jack Russell the rest are females. Any ideas? We thought of snow white and the seven dwarfs and maybe a chain gang. Anyone got anything else?

Akita Dog can they be left outside in the snow at -2 degrees? Hello I have a friend of a friend who owns a dog. I have been telling the owner to let the dog inside the house as it is -2 and freezing outside. The owner tells me that Akita can stand harsh weathers and it is an outdoor dog it is best to leave him out door. I have looked at other forum and websites and they say the same thing but no one states at what temperature these dogs which was orginate in cold climate can torlorate. The dogs make shift kennel does not have flooring. The owner tells me that Akita Inu are close relative of huskey and that Huskeys leave outside and these dogs do too. He dog is sleeping oin a make shift kennel on slabs. Maybe its the female side of me being really soft. I then put a question on another forum which I have taken off now because some people are like me and feel really sorry for the dog and ask me questions like "how would I feel if I was left outdoors". Then I have other people who confirm these dogs are designed for the cold. Can someone please tell me the truth about this dog. The problem is that I have been told by different people that dogs which has been living outside needs to stay outside otherwise the dog body will start to shed their hair making them feel colder when they go outside. Would bringing him in do more harm than good? I will call RSPCA tomorrow to confirm. Do anyone know if there is an Akita association in the UK?

I have 4 dogs (two of which there are no problems) and 2 that won't touch water, unless I stand there and keep encouraging them to drink it. Looking for dog snowsuits to fit 2 English Springer Spaniels? The past few years my English Springers wear a fleece jacket out in the cold winter weather. How can I get my dogs to do their business in the wet weather? I hate this time of year - wet now, snow soon. . . I have 2 small dogs and getting either one of them to do their business outside when it's wet is a real chore. You'd think asking them to get their delicate snooches wet on the grass was like asking them to walk to the chambers! 7 months of the year, we let them out on the lead and walk away from the door. They sniff, do their business, walk around, and come back to the door to be let in when they're ready. But from November to March we have to stand outside and watch them like a hawk! Where to throw a 21st ski/snow resort party? I am turning 21 in december and want to have a winter themed party...except where I live we don't get snow a lot in december (last time was the 'big blizzard of '96 - 4 feet of snow). Anyway, none of my friends have skiied before - so we don't care about how great the advanced slopes are - but want a place with a variety of snow activities - snowboarding, dogsledding, hotair balloon, etc. I want to bring my 2 standard poodles so dog friendly is a big plus (if possible). The resort has to be the most important thing - nice warm and comfy, hot tubs, fireplace. Also we want a place with good night life or atleast something happening. I'm thinking about aspen or eastcoatcanada. Where else should we look? How much should I expect to pay? How far in advance do I need to book? I am looking to spend about $500/night on room.

How well do dogs tolerate very cold weather? I have 4 dogs--2 Welsh Corgis, an elderly Border Collie mix and an almost elderly Chihuahua. I have to be away overnight and I usually just leave them outside but tonight it is supposed to be down to 19 degrees, will they be OK? Pregnant and sick - I shouldn't have to shovel snow, right? From Friday til today, we have gotten 8-10" of snow, half of which is slush now. I am 5 weeks pregnant and have this cold (sinus congestion, sore throat, fatigued, and small headache, no fever) and my husband is mad because I haven't done any shoveling while he was at work. I do work part-time as an ER receptionist. Even though it is 35-40 degrees out, I don't feel I should have to shovel. If I wasn't sick, yes I would be out there doing my share, pregnancy or no pregnancy. I even tried to use the snow blower, but it won't work with slush and it was 10-15 degrees yesterday (sorry, not catching me out there). Neighbors are all older people, we normally blow out there driveways, too. my dog eats other dogs poop? He knows the "leave it" command very good, but nothing works with poop. The problem is, especially at night, I can't see any poop on the ground, especially since the ground is covered with brown leaves or poop hidden in snow..and at night I just can't see it at all, and I can't hold a flash light because I walk 2 dogs at once. When I see him put his head down to sniff, I try to see if there's poop. IF there is poop, if the dog sees me looking, he scarfs it down. If I say "leave it" he just eats it fast too. Even when I pull the leash away, it's too late. Nothing works. no high value treats (hotdogs, cheese, apples) If he's off leash, and I see him trying to eat poop, I say as firmly as I can "Leave it! COME!" but he sees me coming and runs away while swallowing. When he finishes eating, he comes to me with his head down and tail wagging to appease. What can i say???? I just say "good dog (for coming). ok" When he's on leash, I do say No when he eats it. He keeps getting hookworms from this. So I really need help. My neighborhood has a lot of dogs, apparently they aren't picking it up, which makes me mad since I have poop bags in every pocket I have on. and I take them to an off leash woods trail for their main exercise. so there's poop all over there. any ideas what I can do to get him to listen to "leave it" for poop???? He does "leave it" perfect for anything else. Rotts, unfortunately thats only if the dog is eating his own poop, because the pineapple makes their poop taste bad. but he eats other dog poop (and deer poop)

How do I get my dogs to stop digging up my flowers and other landscaping plants? I have 2 dogs. One is a 2 year old Rotty and the other is a 4 year old rotty mix. Both are VERY sweet dogs. They have taken to digging in my flowers though. I plant them they dig them back up. Last year I planted a few trees and the Rotty actually unearthed my trees and used them like a chew toy! We have 3 acres and it is all fenced in with invisble fence. They have a LOT of toys out in the yard, plenty of bones and they always have food and water. When it is nice outside they are outside while we are at work. If it is wet or snowing they stay in the garage while we are at work. All in all they are outside or in the garage for 2-4 hours daily. The rest of the time they are with us in the house or outside with us. How do I stop them? They can't feel THAT neglected... I would consider them very spoiled doggies. They are rarely alone! Could this be anxiety? Any help would be apprecitaed. Thank you! I have thought about running the invisible fence through the beds but I can't because it would cut across the yard and not allow them to get in the house due to the locations and frequency range of the fence and collars. Great thought through. As for training they have both been through intense training by a man that used to train police dogs. They are both very well behaved and know a lot of fun tricks...

How much would you pay neigborhood children who came to help shovel snow? My neighbor & her children were shoveling their driveway. I had alread shoveled my walkway (2' wide x 20' long), and most of my driveway (8' wide x 12' depth), I had 2/3rd done already when the two children came over and offered to help. They helped me do a small 4' x 4' (10" of snow) area then watched me shovel a path down the cliff to my dog pen- 2' x 40'. I do not want to be cheap, but they did not do all that much. I feel if I pay them too much they will get in the habit of arriving after I complete shoveling each time to do little and be paid (I have had a few problems with the mother in the past who tried to put a septic system for her house on my land when she thought I was away for the week- luckily I was home & stopped it. Also she moved stakes, that designated where my land was, closer to my house than kept calling the police complaining that my dog went to the bathroom on her land. I put up a fence & she was mad that her children had no where to play anymore. I like children and want to be fair. What should I pay them and how should I broach the subject that if they want to help me, they can do the entire job and I will pay them. Also, I want them to ask me each time so not to be charging me when I am away from home and they didn’t really do it, but since it snowed they will say they did. Ha anyone kept cats outside in the winter? My wife is feeding 3 stray cats outside of our house. We cannot take the cats in because they are wild and we have 2 dogs and an 8 week old baby. We are however animal lovers and we want to take care of the cats which are so skinny they are close to death. Has anyone ever made a dog house or cat house that will keep the animals warm in the winter in northern ohio even when it snows and gets below 0 F all the time. We feel so bad we want to help them out Ok, we keep out dogs in the house all the time. They are wild cats. we cannot get within 100 feet of them let alone catch them and take them in. There is no spca in ohio. The only place you can take them is the animal shelter and they have a 5 month waiting list per cat. They will not take wild cats. We were just trying to help the wild cats stay warm this winter in a house that would be out in the woods away from us.

is it alright to give my 6 month old german shorthair an over the counter cough medicine for her kennel cough? We just bought our gorgeous 6 mo. old german shorthaired pointer, Sadie, on Thursday. We bought her from a breeder, however her living conditions were pretty awful. She was caged outside with 3 other dogs her size, andno type of shelter from the cold wind, snow, and rain. We noticed on the ride home that her nose was dry, and she seemed a bit dehydrated. She couldn't get enough water, yet was reluctant to eat. She then began coughing around mid-afternoon on friday. I have heard it is ok to give a dog 2 teaspoons of robitussin DM before bed, and i want to get some added suggestions from ppl who have experienced similar roblems. I will be taking her to the vet, but money is tight this week, and i don't want to see her suffer until next week, when i can afford antibiotics or other perscrition meds from the vet. Please help!! The vet doesn't really beive its the best idea to give antibiotics for kennel cough, because it is so contagious and so likely to come back repeatedly. as most ppl know, if antibiotics are taken too often, it can cause the body to become resistant to them, and unable to fight off the infection on its own. most vet sites and animal health sites i have visited have said that it clears up on its own, and cough suppresants will help alot, as they will take away from the discomfort the dog is feeling. i am going to the vet this week, and if i am able to help my dog feel more comfortable until then, it would be great. i would appreciate any HELPFUL answers. please don't answer if u just want to tell me that i am incapable of caring for a dog, because that isn't my question. thanks to anyone that is truly trying to help! Dog Question #2? ok i just asked a question about if my dog should wear boots in the snow or not...ill be a little more specific.... Hes about 11 months...hes a shiba inu...he was born in arkansas but we moved to california....his coat isnt thick like a huskys or an akitas but its not thin like a lab or a dalmation...he hasnt much experince with snow...and were headed up to tahoe so i was wondering if i should get him some boots for his paws or if he will be ok for a couple hours as he is?

My dog ate about 2 pounds of choclate, what do I do? He weighs between 60 and 70 pounds, is a black lab and border collie mix, and my miniature dachsund might have consumed part of the chocolate as well. It was milk chocolate from valentines day, 4 of those heart shaped boxes. He's been going to the door to go to the bathroom atleast once every ten minutes. Sometimes he'll come in from the bathroom and get a drink, then go back to the door. He's also running around and eating the snow. He's kindof timid around us, probably because he's scared of punisment, and he's shaking terribly. We really don't have money for the vet, sinc this month has been pretty tight. What should I do? Oh, he also has a pretty strong stomach He's eaten a pack of tylenol before and been fine. But he seems very sick this time. I have seen or heard people do this...what do you think of them? 1.chain their dog 2. beat them with a newspaper and send them in their crate 3. if they stink they leave them outside until they stop stinking 4.The dog is only let in if it's bedtime, it's storming out(rain, snow) or freezing. Kodak dc265 zoom camera? We have 2 feet of snow and 14 degrees. I let the 2 dogs out this morning and took photos for it was amaziing to see them in the snow. The camer stopped working and I felt it probably froze. I took it in and now it will not turn off. Its red light is on and it says 'no card'. I have had to take the batteries for it will not trun off. I have given it time to warm up and it still is doing the same thing. At first I was taking photos for I saw them on the screen on the back of the camera.

What state and city should I move to? I need to move for health reasons. I would like to move to a city with weather like Anaheim, CA, but with less pricey homes. (Home prices between 250K- 315K are okay.) I want warmish winters -No Snow!!!!!- and summers that are not beastly hot. Up to 90 or 100 degrees (f.) is okay as long as it doesn't last for weeks on end and as long as it is --Not Humid!!--. I need lots of sun and I absolutely need clear air! (No smog, no inversions - if there is a potential for lots of fires, I need the wind to keep the smoke away from my lungs.) A small house is okay (no smaller than 2 bed, 2 bath) and it needs a small walking space for the dogs or a park nearby so the dogs can play. Please message me with your best suggestions!
