What type of dog breeds should I cross? I would like to cross an English Beagle with a Japanese dog breed. Which Japanese dog breed should I mix with the Beagle in order to create a new breed of Europe and Asia combined?

Why are some people against crossing dog breeds? Some people say that crossing dog breeds is bad and crosses have a higher chance to end up in shelters. This is ridiculous because crossing breeds is actually GOOD for the puppies. It makes healthier dogs because of something called "hybrid vigor". And why would a cross have a higher chance ending up in a shelter? That makes no sense at all. Some people say a mongrel's puppy's adult temperment is "unknown", but that is baloney. The vast majority of all dogs (mongrel or not) have good temperments if raised properly, and it has nothing to do with whether it's a mongrel or not. I don't see anything wrong at all with crossing dog breeds, and it's actually beneficial to the puppies. Forget about the confirmation shows and stuff, cause that stuff is just nonsense anyways. Comments??

Have you heard about the new dog cross-breeds? They crossed a Collie and a Lhasa Apso. The new breed is a Collapso, a dog that folds up for easy transport. They crossed a Pekingese and a Lhasa Apso. Why do dog breeders frown upon people who cross breeds? Crossing breeds is actually healthy for the puppies. My guess is that many breeders frown upon it because they are so caught up in the purebred/show circuit, and therefore feel that purebred dogs are better. And I honestly don't see any reason why a mongrel has any more of a chance to end up in a shelter than a purebred dog. A dog is a dog afterall, whether it be purebred or mongrel. I also like purebred dogs very much, but I don't think they are "better" than mongrels. Purebred dogs just look more similar to each other. Both purebred and mongrel dogs are equally good. Opinions?

How to determine if cross-breed dog is allergy friendly? I had a bichon who passed away a few months ago and am starting to consider getting another dog. Problem is, I'm allergic to most breeds. I'm not ready to get another bichon - I loved the last one too much to get a "replacement" for her - and I'm not the biggest fan of purebred poodles, so I'm a bit stuck when considering options. I'd love to be able to get a rescue or mutt this time around, and have have been thinking about poodle- or bichon- mixes. I am worried, however, about the allergy issue. Is there any type of "rule of thumb" for mixes that indicates whether they will be as allergy-friendly as the parent? Alternatively, is there any way to test a dog for allergy-friendliness (since I think the allergies are to dander, not hair)? I don't want to bring a dog home and find out I'm allergic to it - too emotionally stressful for both parties involved. Thanks for any insight you can provide. It's much appreciated.

Is there a way to determine the exact breeds in a cross breed dog? I bought a puppy about a month ago, she is 4 1/2 months and I didn't buy her directly from the breeder. Instead I rescued her from people that weren't treating her properly. I bought her as a Bulldog X Old Tyme bulldog. Why have people never cross bred some really interesting looking breeds of dog? I'm not one for irresponsible breeding, but loads of cross breeds are born anyway. Why does it matter what breed a dog is? I dont understand why breeders get so freaked out about mixed breeds.. I understand that breeders work hard and spend a lot of time improving their breeds...and that is great, I look up to them for that. But why is it when you mention wanting to breed cross-bred dogs they get all bent out of shape about it. My neighbour's 12 year old collie/labrador cross-breed dog has been losing blood - cause unknown? This poor animal has been suffering from blood-loss through urine for over 2 weeks the vet has treated him with antibiotics but as soon as the course ends the blood-loss starts up again. Today the vet has taken 2 x-rays but states that there is nothing wrong with the dog although they have also taken a blood test which they are sending away and it will take at least two weeks before the results are known. All the vet will do is prescribe more antibiotics. The dog is overweight (13lbs) but this is a more recent occurrence as 6 months ago he was 13lbs underweight! He is not allowed to overeat and exercised regularly. My neighbour is so worried about this much-loved pet and is a pensioner who is beginning to struggle with the bills. Today's visit cost in the region of £600. Can anyone out there help diagnose what could possibly be wrong?

I know that crossbreeds can live longer but how much longer will mine be? Is it possible to find out? Do you think it is bad to mix dog breeds. Want to cross miniature schnauzer with shiba inu? I want to have my male miniature schnauzer have puppies with a shiba inu. Will other people be less likely to want to take them in? As far as health goes they would probably have lower odds of genetic diseases that are associated with either breed if there are any. But I am concerned no one will want to adopt any. I would keep one myself and the owners would keep one, so that means that there would be 4 left. Do people look down on mixed breeds. I think some have recently become popular, like the schnoodle. Maybe I could call this a schnauba. I am not looking for dog haters to tell me to get him neutered. That is a useless answer for someone looking for ways to breed them. And you don't understand genetics if you think that bad characteristics "build up." By mixing the gene pools there is a lower chance a disease which is unique to the breed will be inherited. This is healthier for the puppies that will be born. And I am not looking to adopt. I want my dog to have puppies. He is more than a pet to entertain me. He is a living creature. I don't think you even love dogs if you want to neuter them so don't waste time by talking about it. Can anyone make a suggestion as to what cross breed my dog is? I found this little girl at what you would consider a puppymill. I had to bring her home and she is an absolutely wonderful puppy. Very obedient already and a really quick learner. The place that I got her from said she was a mix between a mini aussie shepard and he didn't know what else. I am just curious if anyone may have an idea. Her first vet visit isn't until the beginning of next month. Thanks for any help guys! What breed of dog would you recommend? I am looking to get a puppy but not sure of the most ideal breed I should get that will be compatible with my lifestyle! Basically I need a dog that is happy to spend long hours of the day on his own as i am a uni student and a few days of the week i spend most of the day at uni (obviously when i first get him I will not leave him alone for so long). I also want a dog that does not need tons of exercise. Ideally a dog that would be happy to be taken for walks 2 or 3 times a day for half an hour each time would be suitable for me! And also I would prefer a breed that is not prone to illnesses/disabilities as I don't want to be frequently taking him to the vet. For example I know that dalmations are prone to obesity so i wouldn't want that breed of dog. I am thinking that I would want to get a cross-breed dog, but I can't seem to find any websites that have mutts for sale! Does anyone know of any sites that has mutts for sale?

I haven't been very active on here in asking questions and giving answers and always try to be sensitive to others but from reading many answers it seems certain users are always on the attack, I had to report several answers just reading the "dog" section.
