arabian horses? iv posted a question recently about just starting work on a stud with arabs. i want some info on arabs. iv been online to try and find some info about arabian horses and how to handle them and their temperament and i can find anything! i really want to have the best advantage at working with these horses, PLEASE HELP! can anyone give me any advise on arabs or point me to a good site on handling and temperament etc...
Arabian Horses.....??? So, I'm wondering if there is any way to find background info on my arabian rescue horse. I don't know his positive age but I know around what age he is or should be. I don't know his show name but know 2 possible show names (Alador or Al Bien if that rings a bell to anyone.). He's a dun but he looks like your average bay, he's a dun because he has a dominant dorsal stripe, with tiger striping on his legs and withers along with the other typical black points but his coat is not sandy or yellow at all, it's a red brown like on your average bay. He has 1 sock and one nice big even star, no other white. Gelding, seems like he was someones who horse in the past quite a bit ago. He should be between 15 and 18, he also has a bit of freckled skin. His skin is grey but has small pink spots, but he isn't heavily spotted or mottled, like a appy. You can't see the pink spots through the coat or on his muzzle but inbetween his back legs and in his elbows. He's full arab for sure, he doesn't carry any chararistics that he could be partially any other breed. He has typical arab head tossing, attitude, floaty gates, conformation, dished faced, high sideways tail carriage, etc. Does any of this info remind any of you of a stallion or any foals produced that have similair chararistics? Does anyone stay away from arabian horses becuase of there temperment? I own 2 arabians. When I went to an open show I was told i was stupid for buying such spooky horses. My horses rarely ever spook. All horses spook. I wanted to know how others felt.

Are Arabian horses naturally gaited? I have been told my horse is a anglow arabian. I do not know much about horses, though I have a few quarter horses! Do arabian horses like jumping as much as mine? when she sees a jump she just puts her ears forward and pretty much gallops to the jump even if i brought her in a a trot and we are heading toward a trotting pole... is it just me or is it her?

Thanks x (& I've never had jumping lessons, so please dont pick up on the jumping!) Thanks "LopeSlow" XD He is 19!!! (20 in Feb) He hasnt done much jumping in the 14 years weve had him =) But the vet did say back in 1994 "Get rid of this Horse he will kill you one day"!! He is great with children, a 6 year old was riding him bareback not so long ago... & To the first answer, it's not a gallop, and cant you read? I said not to comments about the jumping!!!

Horse Question: Does anybody know what makes the Arabian horse apprear to have large nostrils? Arabian horses are known for large nostrils. Aside from the teacup arabian, why are they so big? Is it just that they have small noses which makes them appear to have large nostrils, or is it big with big nostrils? What are some fun activities i can do with my Arabian horse? He is an 13 year old Arabian whom, when left bored, is smarter then his own good..... He may seem older, but he acts like a two year old! I ride him about once/ twice a week, he is a dresage horse, and he loves to stay up beat....What would be some fun things to do with him??
