Bengal Cats? I am planing on buying a bengal kitten (cat). Before I do i would like to know what is it's behavior. Does it like dogs for the most part? Is it playful? Does it like to "talk" a lot? Anything. I know it depends on the personality of the cat you get but overall what are most bengal cats like?

Which cats get on best with a Bengal? We have a one year old Bengal Ragdoll x, but she has more characteristics of a Bengal cat. She's very very playful and friendly with all the other cats in the neighbourhood, but ideally we want another breed and another companian for her. I have 2 male cats one is a Bengal and the other is a Manx. How can I keep them from fighting when they meet? My two cats one is a Bengal (the oldest) and one is a manx. Everytime they see each other they want to fight. The manx stays in my daughters room all day I know he would like to come out and be among us. He is unusally mean also. He does not like to be petted like the Bengal does. When I hold the Bengal and my daughter holds the Manx and we bring them together the Bengal just smells the manx, but the Manx hisses and snarls at the Bengal. The Manx is even mean to my dog who is a poodle. He hits at her and slaps her ears. My Bengal is the sweetest man I know. He comes when I call him, and he always asks for treats (meows). He even uses the toilet like a human being (if he only would flush). He is a good kitty. The Manx is a red devil. He is a red haired cat with a mood to match. He will allow my daughter to hold him and pet him to a certain extent but he will strike at her also. He has drawn blood from me a couple of times. Could somebody please help me to tame this devil. They are both neutered

Awesome personality, great with kids, people oriented; short, extremely soft fur, that's fine, and doesn't shed as much as most breeds do, and what does shed, doesn't really show up; markings like they just walked out of the jungle; and playful, they never loose that kitten playfulness. Give them a look! Research them a bit, see if they'd fit into your lifestyle. Works great for those who want a cat a little more involved in their life than the normal cat breed; our stud boy walks on a leash; some fetch readily; they're smart, and love to be with people. :::Note, do make sure you research any animal before you buy it, make an educated decision. If you look into bengals, look into the later generations, Ie, F5 or greater, not the lesser generations such as an F4, F3, F2 or F1. Look them up, you'll see why I say they're such a wonderful breed. Visit a breeder; just to watch them, make your decision after that. Do realize, I'm only trying to invoke some public interest in a not-to-well-known breed. (It's a relatively new breed.) Before you decide on any breed, or any species, of animal, research it extensively first; and visit a few breeders, to make an educated decision on whether the animal would suit your lifestyle. A breeder. I'm trying to invoke more public knowledge about this wonderful breed.
*those with experience only, please* What is the "truth" about "bengal" cats?? That up and coming breed that is large and exotic, and according to the breeder I met at a pet market today has Chinese Leopard Cat in the mix. If the info I'm going on is current, I think it's only in it's 4th/5th generation of being domesticated, but she swore they are great pets whereas I can swear I've heard otherwise about all the exotic cat "breeds" So what's the truth? I'd preffer answers to be from personal experience and not what you've researched on the web, because most of what you read is mostly opinion passed as fact. In other words, if you've owned on or had close contact with a bengal, feel free to share, but if you haven't and have only heard the hype *good or bad, it's still just hype* please, hold your tongue. She did have kittens there for show, but even a lion/tiger cub can play nice when it's young.

How do I get 12 year old Siamese cat to stop attacking my new small 2 year old Bengal cat? My 12 year old siamese cat loves people but not other cats. We brought home a 2 year old bengal about 1 1/2 months ago. The 12 year old attacks the bengal at least 5 times a days even when the bengal is sleeping. We have several cats and 2 St. Bernards, and want to adopt an adult Bengal cat. How can we make this easier? The cat is at a shelter now, because his last owner fed him kibble and now he has irritable bowel -- his foster mom says he's doing great on a raw diet. He's also declawed -- which may actually make it easier to integrate him into our 'family'. Their reasoning being their bengal bloodline has been diluted to get their lighter whiter colouring and that they are less playful and bengal in nature because of this.
