How come pitbull advocates care about dogs more than humans? How come every time a pitbull attack is reported they blame the victim? Even if it is a little kid. How come they always blame the owner, even though pitbulls have been bred to kill for over a hundred years. How come they won't accept the fact that dogs can be bred to be agressive and 100+ years of breeding killers can't be wiped out?
How to stop my pitbull from nipping other dogs? I have a year old pitbull mix. He is a great dog not aggressive at all to people, but once he goes around other dogs he tends to nip at them and sometimes actually bites them for no reason at all. Any suggestions on how to correct this?? Thanks!

Question For Pitbull Owners with Other Dogs? Have your pitbulls ever attacked any of your other dogs? Is it true that you can't really leave a dog and a pitbull alone despite knowing each other well and even growing up together? Is the dog agression instinct too strong in pitbulls? What is the best way to minimize the occurence of fights?

Why are Pitbull dogs ears so sensitive? When I pat my pitbull girl on the head and accidentally get her ear..She makes this crying screaming noise..She had her ears clipped but that was about 4 years ago..Is that why they are so sensitive..or could it be something else?
What are your opinions on Pitbull Dogs? Are they really vicious, or do they just get a bad reputation because of their owners? Please state your opinions. I need this Poll for english Class, so if you could state what you think without cursing, that would be greatly appriciated :)
Are Pitbull aggressive dogs? My cousin will be staying with us for 2 months and she will be taking her pitbull dog with her. She tells us how lovely and friendly the dog is but I have always been kind of scared of the appearance of pitbulls as they look aggressive. I have no fear of other dogs so far.

Am I the only one that thinks that not ALL pitbull/lab mix dogs are dangerous around kids? I am due March 1st and my boyfriend and I have a pit/lab mix dog that is the sweetest dog ever. I realize that there is some danger to having ANY dog around a baby/child, but I'm not one that believes that it is necessary that we find another home for our dog just because we're having a baby. Of course if he ever appeared to pose a threat - he'd be gone in a heartbeat because I wouldn't risk my child's wellbeing on the obvious. But any dog is a risk whether they are small or large and no matter what breed they are. I feel like dogs are like people - each one has their own personality and you can't group them all together because of one bad person in the bunch... Am I crazy to think this?
My pitbull puppy 8 months is agressive towards other dogs? I rescue this sweet pitbull mix labrador, he is as sweet as he can be with humans, he is been nutered alredy, at the dog park he shows playfullness with other dogs in a manner of wrestling, but it can turn into agression at the end, showing dominance towards smaller dogs. At home I am in control since I also have a pug, when my pit tries to dominate my pug in a playfull way I totally discourage it, but I am worry that even in our walks, if he see other dog that is showing sign of agression he wants to go after it, I tried going the other way, avoidance, treats .... but I am 50 develolping arthitis and it hurts to handle him sometimes, other than that he is sweet with humans and gentle., any advice, just in case, I watched a lot of dog whisper show,
What is the chance of a pitbull turning on you or other dogs it lives with? If raised in a gentle environment, where it is never tied up, not beaten, fed well and loved completely, what is the chance that at some point the dog will turn against anyone in my household or against one of the other 4 dogs in the house. And what is the best way to punish bad behavior without causing aggression? it is also being raised from a puppy
Is there any pitbull ads or any dogs ads? I am taking a English class & we need to present an ad. I want to do it on Pitbulls or Rottweilers or any type of dog. I think it will be interesting to evaluate. So is there any types of sites that have these ads? Or magazines?
Can my PitBull Puppy grow up to kill my smaller dogs??? I just found a Pitbull Puppy, she must be around 3 months old only. I have been doing my best trying to find her owner, but so far no luck. I don't want to leave her in the pound either because I just want to make sure I know who the new owner will be. I am going to train her right, give her her shots and spay her and then will find her a new owner. But I am also considering just keeping her. The problem is that i have 2 small dogs and I wonder if the pitbull will ever get agressive to them to the point of killing them on a fight. One is a Female Maletese and the other one is a male Shith Tzu. I also have a Male German SHeperd but I don't think that would be a problem. I have heard many stories about pitbulls and I have been doing some research on line. But I am still not so sure about this breed. SHe is adorable and would love to keep her but it will break my heart if later on she ends up killing my other dogs. Please advise. Thanks Luana
my pitbull is scared of other dogs.? I have a pitbull thats about 4 months old. Each time i walk him, when he see's people he just wants to run toward them. But when he see's other dogs he get scared and run away. How do i get him to be more aggressive. Not aggressive as in really mean and want to kill everything, just aggressive to not run from other dogs and be really protective. Also If other dogs see a pitbull coming, would they be scared.
why is my red nose pitbull agressive towards other dogs? i have a year and a half old red nose pit-bull named roxie-anne. i constantly always take her to the dog park. she used to play very well with other dogs and be submissive now she will hoover over dogs and when they try to get up she is very aggressive towards them i am scared to take her to the dog park now and have her play with other dogs i constantly have to watch her. does anybody know why she is like that? is that just her nature her breed? (she is spayed)
I need help with my 2 Pitbull dogs? i have 2 (boys) 6 month old pit pupps 'n one of them is very aggressive and mean with the other one. They got in a fight last night 'n one of them got bit in the eye really bad and he's having eye surgery today..I feel extremely guilty, i will get them both neutered in the next few days, but I don't know if that will help with their aggressiveness. I don't want to keep them separated because I don't want to see them tied out in a leash or in a kennel or something cuz i know that's not right. I just need some advice, training classes, I don't know, just anything that will help me and my pups..I'm very desperate and overwhelmed!

mom cat , pitbull dogs..? okay so my cat had babys about a month ago . My sister has two pitbull/boxer mix year and a half old pups. They are sweet and not mean to the cats at all . They dont go anywhere near the bedroom where the kittens are. But the problem is , that the kittens are starting to wonder out in the hall way and such . An whenever the mom cat walks out , wether its in the hall , living room , kitchen , wherever if she sees the dogs she hisses and swats her paw at them . My sister gets mad at the mom cat , whenever she does this because the dogs yelp and screech. Even though she doesnt touch them she just chases them and swats at them . We have tried keeping the mom stuck in the bedroom and only letting her out at night when the dogs are in the other room , but that doesnt work she will just scratch and whine at the door until we let her out . Wich is a pain because then we have to put the dogs in the other room , let her out , then wait and so on . So what can we do , to sort of teach her how to not swat at them when they arent doing anything ? I understand it is her instinct , and she is trying to protect them because they wonder behind her when she comes out . But , my sister doesnt want her dogs "attacked " . And I dont want to lock her up in small room all day while the dogs get the house to them selves. She does have food , water , and a litter box in the room ,but she wants out to play in the backyard , so she doesnt like being in there 24/7 . She never has had a problem with the dogs , just since the kittens started crawling out of the box and wondering . thanks for answering , sorry it was alot to read! Alyssa , sorry i forgot to mention , my sister is pregnant . And she has been very "protective", over the dogs . She treats them like kids , because , well that's another story . But anyway she treats them like they cant defend them selves against the cats . Even though she knows they can . Ive told her this many times but there really isnt anyway i can get her to change her mind . She is one of those people who , once they make up their mind , they are not changing their It . So i dont want to argue with her about it . So that is why she acts like that about the dogs. did i mention im only twelve? So , happy hamster , it isnt my choice to get her fixed , she only had two kittens anyway. So before you go off judging , remember i cant spay her because im only twelve . Its my brothers responsibility , and they both have good homes that they will be going to .
How would you describe a Pitbull dog owner? What if anything is symbolic of their choice in breed? If this is a rescue dog,why choose to rescue a Pitbull? For Pitbulluva, I have owned kennels and observed a multitude of dogs there. I owned and showed Great Danes, Shepherds, Standard Poodles, Airedales and Pit Bulls in the 90's. I adored the dogs, they were loveable and loyal, obediant----these dogs were not related to one another either--If a horse, car, dog, child anything passed by they would go nut's--so nuts they would turn and so viciously attack one another that you could not seperate them without risking great harm. Thats why most owners of more than one must kennel them. One I called Honey because she was so sweet and kids would lead her around and she just loved it---I interviewed a family to sell her to and dog and people interacted beautifully--3months after the sale I got a call that "Honey" had almost torn the childs lip off. Once these dogs are keyed up and irritated their wrath is not that of the ordinary family dog, sorry---they are not called Pit dog for nothing. Years of experiance.

DO THEY REALLY LOCK JAW. and must be put to sleep to unlock? my son says it depends treatment you give it and the environment.. most peeps say dont risk it cus their not family dogs (child friendly) I feel guilty cus my son just received a kidney transplant after 3 yrs of dialisys and every day as he recovered in the hospital he anticipated for my uncle's Bitch to have the puppies and questioned every day. I said yes then but now im not sure. CAN THE DOGS TEETH GET FILLED DOWN? i want my kid to be happy ITS IMPORTANT TO HIM but not danger my other 2 babies.....ADVICE ABOUT PITBULLS????? PLEASE!!!!!!
Why do poeple own pitbull dogs especially with children? Do you think people who get pitbulls are trying to prove something? The dangers of the having this dog are known. Even if this breed isn't more likely to lash out anymore than another breed (which I believe it is anyway because of how they have been bred), their bite is a bad one that can cause a lot of damage, even death. So my question is, do people with children who buy these dogs just not believe they are dangerous regardless of the numerous attacks that have been all over the new over the years or do they just not care? Are they trying to prove something or maybe they are thrill seekers? Is it a staus symbol that says "look at me I own a dangerous dog, I can handle it."? I saw a report about one woman who raised her pitbull from a puppy and loved the dog and cared well for the dog and one day out of nowhere he attacked her and literally ripped her entire bottom lip off. Aren't people afraid these dogs will attack their children? Why would anyone risk it? Why not just get a different breed of dog? I'm not trying to down those who own pitbulls, just trying to understand the train of though that goes behind it. airforce wife...If you think they are only dangerous when raised that way, what about the tons and tons of proven attacks by pitbulls who were raised with loving care? can you please point out where I said they were bred to fight? Oh yeah you can't because I never said that! airforce wife: there is a difference because of the way a pitbull bites it is more dangerous when it does attack and I don't think they are scary looking, rather cute actually but it's a fact that they cause more damage when they bite. God Bless our troops...I never said they were bred to fight, I said "because of how they were bred" that was all I said.
do you think its fair that pitbull dogs are band?? do you think its fair that pitbull dogs are band?? plz answer i rely want your opinian for all the people who sed yes i think you shoud whatch this vidio and maby you will change your mind http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBus4GGsyb4&feature=related how come pitbulls are banned but Rottweilers aint when they can be just as bad but most of the time a dogs behaviour depends on the owner. if you sed yes then watch these vids. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2Qlw3pzWv4&feature=related
Is it "wrong" to have a newborn baby and 2 PitBull dogs? Personally I would say that there is nothing wrong with that, but people just keep telling me that it is not right. I'm 5 months preg. and I have 2 male Pitbull dogs (15 mos. old), who consider me their mom (i am), and will only become aggressive when I am around both because they get jelous of each other; they're only aggressive to strangers, but not towards anyone in my family. The problem is that I will be staying with the baby in the same room my doggies use to share when they were pups, and obviously my dogs are going to see me with the baby and stuff. I mean, I don't know how they will react, or if it's safe to have the baby around them; my dogs are my kids too, I can't prefer the baby over the dogs because it is not fair. Plus I've heard that newborns shouldn't be in a household were there are certain "animals". I just want to know if any of you have experienced something similar, cause I always think about that issue, but I really don't see anything wrong...
For all anti-"pitbull" people, how many pitbull breed dogs have you personally known in your lifetime? I am just wondering upon what experience and verifiable factual evidence you base your opinion of the general disposition and personality of so-called "pitbull" breeds such as the American Pit Bull Terrier, Staffordshire bull Terrier, American Bulldog, American Staffordshire terrier, etc. Do you base your opinion on inaccurate media reports that falsely label mixed breeds or other pure breeds as "pitbulls" (when in fact no such breed simply called "pitbull" or "pit bull" exists) that attacked people? OR the genuine reports of irresponsibly owned and badly trained or abused pitbull breeds like the APBT attacking people ? Or do you base your opinion on verified knowledge gained through personal experience intellectual inquiry and substantiated data?Have you actually ever raised a pitbull breed of dog, or known many individuals of each breed?or do you base your opinion solely on media reports and second-hand information? No offense intended just curious of the origin of ur opinion.
Are there any dog trainers in the CA South Bay Area that are willing to work with my two PITBULL mixes? I am looking for a dog trainer who can help me better understand my two ADULT pitbull mix dogs. I am a VERY responsible pitbull owner, and would like to learn about them more as I grow with the trainer. I have had one of them for over a year. He is is three. I have had the other since May 2007. She is almost two. I adopted BOTH of them from the Humane Society. I am trying to master the walk and teach them basic obediance. Also, I would love for them to learn manners around other dogs. BOTH ARE NEUTERED/SPAYED. The female is a lot more difficult to walk. The male does VERY well with the gentle lead. *I've tried Cesar * I've tried the phone book

Can we sue condo association for pitbull dog negligence? Can we sue condo association if we get hurt by a pitbull dog? The association has rejected our petition and will not ban or order muzzles for several pit bull dogs in our community. One of the dog has already caused $1,500 injury to a small dog. The association claims we would need to sue pitbull owner, not them. Aside from the dog owner, wouldn't it be the condo management's responsibility due to their negligence? Thanks Legal
