What are some awesome rainforest animals (or sweet exotic/tropical ones)? Hi, in my science class, we have the best assignment ever!! We get to make up a creature that lives in to rainforest!!! (But not all the parts of the animal have to be from rainforest animals). We also have to make an ecological niche for the creature. So far, I have an animal the size of a marmoset with ears and a face slightly like a fennec fox, it has springy legs for jumping, and of course, wings! It's a marsupial, and is similar to the platypus (it lays eggs, but is still a mammal), and there is much more about this creature that I don't have enough room to write about. But somehow, it all fits together and makes sense! Either way, I want my carnivorous, (it hunts by ambushing animals 10x its size by waiting until they walk close to the tree its in, then they pounce on its neck and use their sharp, retractable claws to slit the animals main neck artery; then they just wait for it to bleed out), little creature to be the most epic animal to ever walk the earth (that's right, it has raptor and other awesome dinosaur characteristics)! But I feel that it's missing something...so what are some sweet rainforest animals? I already took into consideration: tree kangaroos marmosets red pandas sloths lots of bird types so far, dinos are the only reptile-like things ocelots servals margays jaguars... tapirs coatis sugar gliders bushbabies kinkajous lemurs spectacle bears koalas okapis dholes coypus cassowarys bongos quolls zorros tarsiers meerkats And that all I got so far...I there anything else I could add to make my animal awesome?

Can someone explain the paragrapher in simpler terms please? Its about the tropical rainforest? This study analysed 9 to 11 year old children's drawings of tropical rainforests immediately before and after a visit to the Humid Tropics Biome at the Eden Project, Cornwall, UK. A theoretical framework derived from considerations of informal learning and constructivism was used as a basis to develop a methodology to interpret the children's drawings and to measure the change in children's perceptions and learning after their visit. The children's pre-visit drawings mainly showed tree and plant outlines familiar to an English countryside. Rainforest animals were to the fore in the pictures and there was a general lack of scale, depth and perspective in the drawings. In the post-visit drawings, the animals had mainly disappeared. There was often remarkable accuracy in the shape and detail of the tropical rainforest trees and plants now drawn. The post-visit drawings also demonstrated far greater depth, scale and perspective than the pre-visit drawings. The interpretation and analysis of the drawings gave insights into children's understanding and learning about tropical rainforests and demonstrated that analysis of children's drawings can be an effective method of assessing some aspects of their learning. Just need it broken down in simpler terms...thank you

I'm making a vivarium....starting at step one....any hints? What animals/plants are best for a tropical layout Hello fellow vivarium makers! I just found out about vivariums and have read a little bit about the concept, and am now Inspired to make one of my own! However, I have no idea how to start. I have a few supplies I got from my aunt: Tank, rocks, wood, and a light. I would like my vivarium to be a tropical one, and when you look in it it's as if you've been transported to the rainforest it self. I would like a waterfall/pond as well as all live plants. What animals are good for this environment, and what plants? I've read that poison dart frogs are good, but can they live with other species such as Anoles and Geckos? I would like to have as many different species as possible, is this wise or should it be a one species vivarium. P.S The tank is VERY large-- about 30-40 gallons, and is larger than a normal fish tank due to the shape of it. (Its like a fish tank bottom, and then a parrallelagram on top). Thank you VERY much!!!

how do animals ? How do animals adapt to the climate of the tropical rainforest?
You need to put the following into your own words.? Scientific investigations to establish the current state of a particular ecosystem are conducted by environmental scientists whenever planning permission is required to clear an area of tropical rainforest. This proposed clearance has caused an international argument as some people are concerned that the clearance will lead to the destruction of a unique piece of tropical rainforest and will endanger some rare animals and plants found there. Initially it is decided that a survey of the current situation should be down to work out the effects on the ecosystem if the tropical rainforest is cleared. ---------------------------------------------------- Someone please write all this with your own words as good as possible! Thx in advance.
How did millions of animals fit inside the Garden of Eden, and how did Adam have time to name them? There are countless types of animals on earth. How did they all live in the Garden of Eden? How did penguins, kaola bears, bengal tigers, giraffes, polar bears, etc. all live in the same climate? Many animals can only live in the rainforests of South America. Did the Garden have special artic zones, tropical zones, and arid zones? How else can one explain Genesis 2:18-22? djfj: It would take 12 days, around the clock simply to count to a million. Coming up with unique names would take much longer than that.

I need help editing an Essay.? I am a straight A student, and I always have my work in on time. This essay, however, is horrific and i need some help editing. The Tropical Rainforest Climate is a climate region known for its year-round, heavy rainfall. It can get up to 100 inches of rain per year. Tropical Rainforests are known to be home to two thirds of the worlds plants and animal species. About ¼ of all medicines we use come from rainforest plants. Tropical Rainforest’s climate is hot and humid. The soil is not known to have many nutrients, because they get washed away in all the rain. South America has the widest region of Tropical Rainforest Climate. One of the world’s largest and thickest rainforests covers about one third of Congo, located in Africa. The equator runs through northern Congo, causing a tropical weather pattern with high temperatures and humidity. The temperature is constant the whole year long, the high is between 80 to low 90 degrees. Its rainy season runs from March to June and it has a dry season running from the month of June to October. The northern part of the country is primarily inhabited by wild animals so the majority of Congo’s people live in Southern Congo. Areas of the Congo River Basin receive 100 inches of rainfall annually, but the coastal area is cooler and drier that the rest of the country. The Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa’s 3rd largest country, was only recently renamed, formally Zaire. It is covered with dense rainforests. Rainforests cover over half of its territory. Democratic Republic of Congo’s average annual rainfall is between 60-80 inches. It is very high in humidity, and its temperature varies little, always staying in the mid 80’s. About 60 million people call the Democratic Republic of Congo their home. Cameroon, located in Western Africa, has a variety of landscapes. In the west, Cameroon has mountains. To the north, it has grasslands and to the south, Cameroon has tropical lowlands. Most houses near rainforests are made of wood, palm leaves, and clay. Waza National Park in Cameroon has many animals including elephants, giraffes, monkeys, and antelope. It can have an annual rainfall of up to 200 inches. Gabon is located on the west coast of Africa. It is prosperous in natural resources and heavily forested. Gabon has a tropical climate and is always hot and humid. Most of Gabon is covered in a dense rainforest. This climate region is extremely important to the world we live in today because it provides us with important plants, for medicine, home to two thirds of the animal life on our planet, and a delicate ecosystem that cannot be reproduced.

Does it bother you when celebrities go to other countries and...? help the poor people there. But they don't help the poor people in their own country. I mean like adopting kids in asia when there are so many unwanted children here, like helping the african children when there are hungry children a block away from their high priced TV/Movie studios, Like even helping animals and saving the trees in tropical rainforest, but will step over a homeless person on their way out of their limo's. Does this seem wrong to anyone else? I'm sorry, but people always say there are programs. Come one people, there aren't that many programs in ther US to help all the poor and suffering people. I think we need to step into reality and realize that it's hard or even sometimes impossible to enter certain programs and many have waiting list 100 miles long. jdnmsedsa... I have a tutoring program from my home for G.E.D, I also do some help with finding employment, I am in the process of creating a non-prfofit program to homeless women and children and battered children. I have a drug addicted foster child, plus my own child and I am a single parent. I have been working at a government agency for 10 years, but my job is a way of helping people in need. I have been homeless myself, I have been without food for days before and there is nothing worse then being looked over un your own country. I don't concern myself with animals and trees, when there are HUMAN LIVES at stake.

9th Grade Honors Biology Homework Question? Tropical Rainforests cover only about 3% of the earths surface, but they are estimated to be responsible for more than 20% of global photosynthesis. For this reason, rainforests are reffered to as the "lungs" of the planet, providing oxygen for life all over the planet. Although, experts believe that rainforests make little or no net contribution to global oxygen production. From your knowledge of Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration, can you explain why they might think this? (What happens to the food produced by a rain forest tree when it is eaten by animals or when the tree dies?) Thank You!!!
Rainforst Cafe? I went to the Rainforest Cafe this weekend and I was highly disappointed. None of the animals pictured on the menu are actually ON the menu. With a name like Rainforest Cafe one would expect to at least find some tropical animals, if not a few endangered ones (subject to availability). I thought I was doing my part to keep these animals endangered by visiting but no such luck. Barbeque Chicken Pizza? Since when is a chicken from the rainforest? I feel decieved and I'm sure this is false advertising. Do I have grounds for a lawsuit here? I live in Nevada so there are no consumer protections against anything, but I visited the one in California and they're all sue happy so I think I have a chance. Any lawyers out there that would like to take this case and stop the lies? We need to protect the innocent consumers out there who just wanted to dine on an Okapi to help it gain endangered status. Share your stories here of deception by the so called "Rainforest Cafe"!
Please help me? What is the difference in Biology between a Ecosystem and a Biome? What category would a regular rainforest that is tropical without any animals, just scenary go under, Biome or Ecosystem? Also when I see animals in tropical rainforest pictures under yahoo images. How can I be able to label the type of animal if I don't know the name of the animal? Thanks for your answers!!! Also how can I tell what types of plants in the pictures to like the characteristics, I mean how to identify them and how will I know the name?
How do u say this in spanish? Last week I took a trip to a tropical rainforest. I went there with my parents. It was a very beautiful place. I saw many animals you can't just see in daily life. One animal I seen was a tucan. We also ran into a few tigers on our trip. There were also many types of tropical reptiles. We had such a great time. I think that it was an experience of a lifetime!
What is your view on Palm Oil as an alternative energy resource? Oil Palm plantations are growing at rapid rates in the tropical nations of Indonesia and Malaysia. These lands were once covered by upwards to 90% rain forest just a century ago, while that has declined presently to less than 50%. This is due largely to oil palm plantations. Palm oil has been used historically as a cooking and cosmetics additive with other uses. However, the palm oil industry is now booming with its realization of clean energy. Europe has turned to this clean energy in hopes of reducing the global warming problem. Palm oil is about 8-10 times as efficient as ethanol for power. However, rainforests are being slashed and burned at record rates in these nations, to make room for more palm oil plantations. These areas which were a rich are for trees and plants as well as animals are now being turned into an oil palm monoculture for profits. Think about how the atmosphere is effected when dense rain forests are being burnt down at blinding speeds.
